Every morning now when I wake up and grab my phone I have a warning icon on notification bar. It says V Cast media manger failed on backing up my phone because it's not on wi-fi or set to back up using data plan...??? WTF? I've never seen this before or messed with any of these settings. More importantly, I have NOT been promted for the evil OTA update yet. Does anyone else get this now? What has changed without the update?

Check your account syncing on your phone. It should be listed and you should be able to turn it off.

Go to account sync in setting. It is default to run on WiFi, check WiFi or mobile, and warning should go away.

Also I would uncheck all the boxes for things to backup so its not doing anything at all.

In my case, it starts on my PC every time I connect the phone and I don't see any way to disable it.

Go to Accounts & Sync and uncheck everything it syncs. That worked for me. I've noticed that if I restart my phone though, those things usually check themselves again.

If you haven't gotten the OTA, why haven't you rooted yet, bro?
This was pretty much the first thing in everyones cross hairs back when Scrosler brought us CleanTool.

Mine is set this way (and has been since I got the phone about 2wks ago) and I get the same error messages.

Maybe he/she's like me and doesn't want to root?

I understand why some people would prefer to remain stock. But I can't quite understand why they would choose this when the bloat on their phone is driving them nuts, especially when rooting has no adverse effects.
There's a proven solution for many of the aches and pains caused by Verizon, you should go for it.

Lets just say I don't feel comfortable rooting. Murphy's Law loves me alot and so I try not to open the door and let him in voluntarily. For me to root in my experience would be no different than sending him an engraved invitation. Make more sense now?

Where's the fun in paying for your phone and giving Verizon permission to be the only ones who can screw it up for you.:p Buy a dog and keep that mischevious Mr. Murphy off your property.:)
