V30 Leaked in images again (Update: Confirmation from LG)

Re: Leaked in images again

Looks like they got rid of the secondary display. So the main difference now between the V30 and G6 is the bigger screen of the V30? (And SD835, and 6 gb ram lol). Which is what the G6 should have had in first place

We don't know yet if the second screen is completely gone. Amoled is a game changer and they may include a modified version of the second screen.

Re: Leaked in images again

Just been reading elsewhere that the V30 will have an f/1.6 aperture on the main sensor. That would make it the widest ever on a phone and hopefully make a big difference for low light shots

Re: Leaked in images again

I tried to compare the size of the V30 with the size of the G6, using the fingerprint scanner, 3,5 mm jack and USB type C port as a comparison. I'm an amateur, so I'd highly appreciate a more professional attempt by another user to get the exact dimensions of the V30!

To me this looks like the V30 will not be larger as the G6, but will have more or less the same size. I think the slightly smaller bezels above and below the display could lead to a 5,8" display in the body of a G6. I'd like a phone like this, because it would still be partly usable with one hand. What's your opinion?

V30 Screen Confirmed

Looks like LG is saying goodbye to the Secondary Screen. This is confirmed, and instead of a secondary screen it will be using a "floating bar" that can show notifications and shortcuts as well.

Next, is the main screen:
A QHD+ 6.0" OLED Fullvision display with rounded corners and HDR 10 support, as well as Google Daydream support out of the box.

The camera:
A f/1.6 aperture, along with a Crystal Clear Glass Lens and improved transmittance.

Audio:
Moving past a Quad DAC to an all-round upgraded audio experience including a collaboration with B&O, although this could be for specific markets like the G6 and V20.

Rest of the specs:
IP68 water and dust protection, military standard protection, 6000- series aluminum with Gorilla glass 5, as well as a heating and cooling pipe.

Release date:
Supposed to be announced August 31, with a pre order date of September 17, with the U.S. and global release date set for September 28.

Would love to know what an all around upgraded audio experience is. Doesn't tell you if the DAC is staying but upgraded implies better. Could be they are improving the DAC but I guess its wait and see.

Yeah, these specs look very promising. I'm not buying one, I just love to stay updated and all.

So seems to show what has been leaked many times before. View attachment 264914

Sorry LG. This is a goodbye. I can't do curved screens... as you can see from the side it's curved. Plus removing all the key features from its predecessor. No mention of dual pixel technology... going to get the S8 Active probably and keep my V20 around.

No dual pixel technology? Going to suck as a low-light shooter. Also the curved glass... going to give many people problems with installing screen protectors and cases.

I hope they don't scrap the DAC like they did with the US version of the G6. A great piece of technology.

1.6 aperture dude...that's helps. I haven't had any real trouble low light with the V20. I don't care what anybody says about how good a phone takes low light shots....I save that for my real camera... Its called planning ahead. Now I know that doesn't always work out or is realistic for eveyone but I don't bring a knife to a gunfight. Everyone can disagree or find it convenient not to carry a camera, but I have DSLR that's no bigger than medium point and shoot and it has a low profile lens. I don't bring it everywhere but like I said, I plan ahead.
I must admit though ever since LG added a wide angle camera I do love my phone camera more. I will never buy a phone without one unless I don't have options.
Damn....I'm off topic....lol

Where are you seeing that it's curved? I see a screen that looks like the G6.

It wasn't mentioned, but we will have to wait for it to come out.

Re: Leaked in images again

Every leak I've seen shows a flat screen like the G6. Subtle curved sides yes, but a flat screen.
