V30 Leaked in images again (Update: Confirmation from LG)

Re: Leaked in images again

So the upper bezels has been reduced by 20% (I believe it has been measured from the second screen) and the lower bezel by 50%. Can someone guess or measure what the dimensions of the device will be? When I tried, using the pictures published by OnLeaks some days ago, it seemed like the V30 would have the same dimensions as the G6. But with a 6 inch screen that can't be true I think?

Unless there's a need to know in advance I wouldn't worry about it because will know for sure in a month and possibly sooner if it leaks out.

Re: Leaked in images again (Update: Confirmation from LG)

Well, I had the hope that LG would take advantage of a 18:9 display with very small bezels by making the device more compact and handy. Of course the V-Series is about large displays and for example the size of a G6 would be ok for me, but the V30 shouldn't get larger than the G6 to fullfill my demands. I love all the specs of the V30, but with 6 inches being confirmed it could get too big for me ... :/

It will probably be easier to manage than the V20

Re: Leaked in images again (Update: Confirmation from LG)

The smaller the better imho (talking about the device, large screens are nice though)

I tried to make a mockup of the device:

This is made by myself, based on the new picture published today, nothing official!

Looks like a Galaxy S8 with a less edged screen to me.

You're really putting your heart into this.....interesting to see how close you come to the final product.

Polycarbonate back??? Thunder rolls, lightning crashes and the worldwide gasp of horror and anguish is deafening.... Lol... Lol... Lol

As much as I would love to see this, no tech writer will ever endorse it including those here on AC... you know it, I know it and everyone else does too..

You know what? I get really sick and tired of all the bs these people put out about how a phone looks Sexy, Futuristic, and Trendy these days... It's not a frigging runway model.. It's a phone for crying out loud... I become ill when I here them say "outdated design" or something like that when you and I know differently.

I know what we feel doesn't matter 1 iota to them but I wish it did.

If they ever grew a set and actually built a top of the line specd power users phone with all the bells and whistles we all love using the absolute best components it would be a game changer

:) This is so true. Your comments had me LMAO. The confirmation from LG has just made my mind up I will not be buying a V30 at all. They had to go give up their uniqueness and cave in to be just another curved glass, unibody Samsung look a like. I bought an HTC U11 to try out while waiting on some facts about what the V30 was going to be. I'll be keeping the U11 and my V20. So I'll have probably the last phone made with a flat screen and removable battery, (V20) and one of the few new phones with a Normal 16:9 screen. I really don't get this move to tall skinny screens, it's not like a phone with an 16:9 screen is inches wider than the things Samsung and LG are putting out. Unless you have a physical handicap or your hands are the size of a 5 year old how hard can it really be to hang on to a phone. Personally, meaning my opinion, Definitely disappointed in the V30, I was hoping more for a very similar version of the V20 with updated specs, not another Samsung S8 type clone.

Re: V30 Screen Confirmed

1.6 aperture dude...that's helps. I haven't had any real trouble low light with the V20. I don't care what anybody says about how good a phone takes low light shots....I save that for my real camera... Its called planning ahead. Now I know that doesn't always work out or is realistic for eveyone but I don't bring a knife to a gunfight. Everyone can disagree or find it convenient not to carry a camera, but I have DSLR that's no bigger than medium point and shoot and it has a low profile lens. I don't bring it everywhere but like I said, I plan ahead.
I must admit though ever since LG added a wide angle camera I do love my phone camera more. I will never buy a phone without one unless I don't have options.
Damn....I'm off topic....lol

Should've mention low light focus speed. I'm having a hard time taking pictures of my younger neice because she can't sit still, also my dog too. Faster indoor low light focus speed would help. Lately, I've been using manual mode to adjust the shutter speed but then I had to raise the ISO... it works but images come out terribly grainy.

It'll be the same size. The bezels shrink but display is stretched. If you combine the 2nd screen with the main 5.7' screen on the V20, it's pretty much like a 6 inch.

It's all marketing. These guys get paid big bucks to market and endorse these beautiful glass phones. I admit, I love how these phones look, it's "sexy and sleek". But for day to day usage in the "real world", it's not practical. It's not like I'm at a cocktail party every weekend showing off my shiney phone to everyone like a show-off, eating caviar and hors d'oeuvres.

To support wireless charging I would have done one of two things

Made the back a colored plastic with a polycarbonate overlay which would have given it a glass look. It would still get scratches but it would be fairly shatterproof

Made a metal back with a LG badge insert in the middle made out of a material compatible with wireless charging.

PC would scratch like a mofo, it would look hideous. But good idea though.

Why not glossy metal with a layer of shiney paint and clear coat like a car? Then you can wax it like you would wax your car to keep it more shiney and protect against environmental factors. Then include an optional durable plastic back battery door for the wireless charging fanatics (possibly have the grip material from the V10 too). I'm sure someone could've made an aftermarket plastic back for the V20 with wireless charging built in.

High density Polycarbonate doesn't scratch any easier than GG5 especially with a scratch resistant coating. Polycarbonate is used in a lot of places in lieu of glass and it doesn't yellow as rapidly as other plastics. Another material that could be used is Corian or sandstone. Won't have a high gloss shine but scratches can be buffed out.

Just buy a universal remote
And carry it everywhere I go not knowing when I will need it? I used my z20 remote yesterday in car repair waiting room. I use it when I travel.

I don't want to be talked out of ir blaster. Just find the next flagship that has it

Not trying to talk you out of anything....soon you won't be able to get one.

I would imagine that it will be larger than the G6, otherwise there wouldn't be much reason for it's existence.

Pretty much - this is my near 4 year old Nokia Icon. Never had case.
