Verizon customers: What phone will you be switching from?

I can promise you that there is no better notification system then Android. Wait, does BB even have notifications? LOL.

Actually, I like the BB notification system. Push notifications always worked for me. And unlike Android devices, all BBs have LED notifications, and those LEDs can be easily customized with different colors for different types of notifications (phone calls, contacts, voicemail, email, BBM, texts, social networking apps, IMs, etc). Android can do some of that type of notification customization, but not nearly to the extent that it can be done on BB.

It's the other stuff that BB doesn't do as well...

To be honest keeping up with phones, hardware specs, features, etc is more challenging and fun than keeping up with all the changes in the PC world.

Totally agree. And I am not even a techy type! Katherine

Switching from the BlackBerry Storm 2. Our company only supported BlackBerry until recently. I don't want to say I hate my Storm. It's great at email. Totally blows at everything else. A few of my friends at work carry 2 devices, one for work, one for play. No offense, but that has always seemed ridiculous to me. To each his own.

Really looking forward to Spotify on my phone. And also a decent fantasy football app (the Yahoo app for bby is God-awful!). And of course, a serious upgrade in the camera/video department.

I've already migrated all of my contacts over to my gmail account and deleted tons of contacts I don't need in the process. I'm all cleaned up and ready to go..... just waiting for the shoe to drop!

Depending on the actual phones arrival and hands on experience I will be getting rid of my iPhone 4S and picking up the GNex.

I can't wait to get rid my Blackberry Curve 8530. It was fine for what I thought I needed at the time I selected it as my upgrade two years ago but, oh how the times have changed. This time around...I want the cutting edge stuff that will let me do much more of what *I* want to do as opposed to what I'm told I need to accept as "the experience." The phone looks gorgeous and all but ICS is what put the Galaxy Nexus at the top of my list for sure.

I will be switching from my LG Dare. Yea I'm a sophomore in college still with a LG Dare. No joke. I had this phone for about 2.5 years now.

Anyways does anyone know if i will be able to get a discount for this phone? I know that my cousins husband was able to sweet talk his way into getting my sister her smartphone at full price but with a 20$ a month unlimited data plan instead of a 30$ month unlimited data plan(this was early this year when unlimited was still 30$ at verizon). I think we were able to get the discount b/c of his talking/we were verizon customers for many years now (maybe 10 years or more). So does anyone know if i'll be able to see a similar discount when i buy my phone?

^ Just call VZW and ask about it, it literally took me less than 5 min to ask and get the two data plans on our plan to 20 bucks each. We have been with VZW for 4 years+.

sorry for going off topic, but do you think i can order the phone off of amazon then call verizon to lower the cost of my data plan? Or do i need to order the phone/make a new contract with verizon over the phone in order to get a discount?

I can't believe I'm doing it, but after 4 years of iPhones on ATT, I am switching to Verizon Galaxy Nexus ! Hope it's worth it!

Finally ready to put the OG out to pasture. Due for an upgrade on 11/19. It will be nice to have a phone with enough memory to play something as simple as Angry Birds without locking up or rebooting. 256 mb of ram or 225...whatever it is, doesn't quite cut it anymore. Uninstalling apps every time I want to install a new one sucks ass too.

I went from a Tbolt to my old D1... I have next to no apps installed and running Pete's GPA19.. my tablet helps alot. I might 'rent' a razr if its not announced this week

I first got a BB Storm but then I gave it to my mom and got a Droid Incredible but then I broke the screen when it was like 7 or 8 months old and Insurion only had a Droid X to replace it. I then hated the Blur so I got into rooting and flashing ROMs and I have settled on MIUI has a every day ROM and it OC'ed to ULV @ 1.15GHz. I am very excited to get the GN when/if it comes out!
