Hey folks, bit of a noob here hoping I can get some help from you guys. :) I have a Verizon Galaxy Nexus running jelly bean 4.1, and ever since I flashed a jelly bean rom, camera application no longer works. When I first flashed the rom the camera would work only sometimes, but now it does not work at all. Every time I try to open camera app I get error message, " Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped", and then it quickly goes away. I am able to view gallery with no issues, but no luck taking any pictures. Would this be an issue with the rom itself? Or is there something I might have done wrong while flashing jelly bean rom? Here is my current phone information as per "about phone" in the settings:
Android Version-4.1
Baseband Version-I515.09 V.FC04/I515.FC05
BuildNumber-JRN84D
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading. :)

Re: Verizon Galaxy Nexus camera not working after flashing Jelly

You're using a VERY old version of JB. One of the main bugs with that version--the ported version--was the camera.

Try a new rom :).

What is gapps? Sorry for my ignorance :/

Re: Verizon Galaxy Nexus camera not working after flashing Jelly

Any suggestions on a new rom? :)

If you want STOCK Jelly Bean - Bugless Beast (check the thread in this forum)
If you want FEATURES - AOKP (check the thread in this forum) or Euroskank's CM10 (check the forum for the thread).

What is gapps? Sorry for my ignorance :/

GAPPs = Google applications. For most roms, they are NOT included but a separate zip file that must be flashed separately (and immediately after the rom zip).

Thanks you so much for that info, I will look into those see which one I go with. One more question, once I decide on a rom, do I just flash on top of what I have? Or do I need to go back to stock or something of that nature?

Flash on top, but you'll need to wipe the phone in recovery.

For more flashing goodness, read my Don't Panic guide :).

Isn't it funny to use the words "JB" & "Very Old" in the same sentence... But JB is already reaching Middle Age - all grown up, and should already be replaced in about 3 more months...

Okay, so I flashed a new rom hoping my camera problem would be fixed, but camera is still doing the same thing. I flashed euroskank's cm10 rom with the pertaining GAPP's, but no fix to my camera issue. Any idea what may be causing this issue?

Thanks!

Nope, have no idea why it'd be happening with an updated rom.

Re: Verizon Galaxy Nexus camera not working after flashing Jelly

sent you a PM to try and help. the JBSOURCERY V2.2 ROM has a camera fix app in their tools that might help. My camera has always worked with any ROM.
