Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

I wouldnt hold my breath for an OCT launch... if the device exists and I cant say if it does or doesnt.. just know its more than likely not going to launch till Mid Nov...

Well if it isn't Blake Manecks!

Nice to see you around. Have you heard anything about any of the other late Q3/Q4 Verizon devices? (Vigor, SGS2, etc)

So it seems most of the Nexus Prime news are always coupled with Verizon being a carrier. Many of you doubt this is happening, but maybe Google struck and real with Verizon to have it first and an exclusive period with the device till it reaches other carriers. One of the only things I could think of as to why Verizon would carry this device.

I hope it's VERIZON. I would like to know why Verizon didn't get the Nexus S like ATT, T-Mobile, & Sprint...

Yes, but all the Nexus Prime news has been complete rumors and hearsay up until the Korean article. I can complete understand the doubt.

yes, but the intensity of the rumors is starting to heat up, and that often means something. and to add to the rumors of the Prime coming to VZW (and being made by Sammy), here is an article just posted by TechnoBuffalo:

How many rumored release dates do we see for a phone? No matter how many rumors we have, in the end, they are all rumors. With the Bionic, for instance, insiders clung to a late Aug/early Sept release date while all blogs (and even a Best Buy employee from this forum) were reporting late July/early August. In the end, all of the rumors were false hope, and the insiders were right. Google, themselves, stated ICS wasn't going to be ready until Q4 and now BMX is saying he doesn't even know if Verizon is getting a Nexus device, but that it wouldn't be released until November if it were. In the end, unfortunately, we don't know a whole lot about this device.

Agreed. Its definitley gaining some steam. The Korean article means more in my eyes than anything else, because it still seems to me these other articles go back to BGR

agreed. altho, this TB article cites its own source that the Prime is being tested by VZW. my guess would be that it's a different source than Phil's. i realize we're never gonna get formal confirmation until right before release - but, i do like the fact that we're starting to get info from multiple sources pointing to a VZW release in Nov.

So if it launches in mid Nov. which carrier would it theoretically release on :p

I've been googling and I have yet to see anything from google saying ICS will remove the need for physical buttons. If anything I've seen that honeycomb, when you change display properties turns into gingerbread and removes the on-screen buttons. I see a lot of people speculating on no physical buttons, but nothing confirmed. Wouldn't removing physical buttons just lead to yet another patent lawsuit from Apple?

I'm fine with physical buttons and bring on that 4.6" screen on top of it.

Remember people, it's still a rumor until other people can check your sources. If your sources are secret, it's no better than hearing "My friend's brother's best-friend's, daughter-in-law said..."

According to Techno Buffalo its (Nexus Prime) being shopped to Verizon right now. So its not a done deal by any means.

This reminds me of the iPhone coming to Verizon rumors of years past. I'm not ready to commit either way. Ill sit on the sidelines and let the game play itself out. I would love to own this handset but I refuse to set myself up for disappointment. Rumor is rumor. I've been in too many rodeos to know when to get off the bull and this is one of them.

Its wait and see...

Hehe, I remember being on the skeptical side over at Droid Forums when the most recent VZW iPhone rumors broke out... I was wrong then. Now I'm an optimist until I get disappointed again. :p

The key reason why everyone is saying that ICS is going to get rid of physical/capacitive buttons is because Google said ICS was going to merge both the tablet OS and phone OS together. Since Honeycomb doesn't have buttons, wouldn't it make sense to have buttons on ICS? The whole point of updates is to go forward. If they put buttons on ICS (which is chronologically newer but might not be in terms of version number), then they would just be going backwards.
