Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Not for us in the UK and Europe :( for us it's happening at stupid o'clock on the morning of the 19th. I basically have to decide between watching this live and being able to function at work on Wednesday.

1. Choose to watch... you can function at work any day, but this announcement only happens once. :)
2. Even though its on Wed. Morning there, you still have the same amount of time to wait ;)

Are you really kidding me!! Its just a phone for crying out loud!

I've still been swinging back and forth between the Vigor/Rezound and the Nexus. Each has features that the other is missing that I like. Right now I'm leaning towards the Nexus because I see no point in having a dual core cpu on the phone and an OS that can't use it. I know that devs will have custom rom for it before too long but it also makes sense to start out with a phone that was made for ICS.

Sorry to not read all 1844 posts in this thread and to ask a dumb question, but...

Will this be VZW's first phone with vanilla Android? (and the only one for awhile I presume?)

No, OG Droid was the first.

Ahh, I didn't know that. I thought all Moto Droids had the dreaded Blur.

Anyway back on topic...

The Prime is likely to be too big, unwieldy & battery-hogging for my taste. I don't need or want a near-tablet-size device in my pocket or on my belt.

Although I don't like iPhones much, I think they have the physical form factor just about right. Just saying.

Understandable. Not everyone likes the size of a certain phone. That's why many companies offer them in various sizes. If you're looking for something a tad smaller without giving up these specs, The DROID RAZR might be your device. It's super slim and slightly smaller/compact. Just something to consider if you're having doubt about the Nexus.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put up a youtube video after the live stream so people can watch it at any time they want like they do with any other presentation. Don't lose sleep over it, just wait till you wake up in the morning to watch it.

In the old days (pre-smartphones) I loved my Moto's (Startac, V60i) but now in the Android era, Moto seems to have seriously lost it's way.

From all I can tell Moto Blur is a disaster. They've managed to mess with Android OS and break a fair amount of stuff, including Exchange ActiveSync which is mission critical for me. I heard so many horror stories on the Moto support forums that I vowed to stay far away from Moto Droids.

Don't know anything about the new RAZR but if it's running Blur I'd have some very serious doubts.

I'm still running a DroidX and blur is liveable with a good Rom. I'm running Liberty GB and blur doesn't bother me in the slightest. I actually get to use the blur apps(camera) that work better under blur and ditch the crappy ones(everything else).

If Moto did another phone like the OG Droid(Stock Android) I'd do that over the Nexus just because I know and appreciate Moto's build quality. Sammy phones almost never feel as solid as the Moto phones do. That's really my biggest fear about the NP, the build quality.

I don't know but every single Motorola phone i've had has been crap. Dating back to the Nextel days, except for the first fat one.

I'm not a huge Motorola fan but the OG Droid has been a workhorse. It has been durable. It's really an Android classic.

Yeah, Moto did it right with the OG Droid, except for the physical keyboard.

Otherwise it's like a Nexus 0.5.

Can't wait to get this phone with NFC. I just checked and there are 1,675 stores that can accept Google wallet in or next to my zip code. Would have never imagined this.

Unfortunately in my town of under 26k people, we only have the two CVS pharmacies and the BP gas stations on board presently.:-\
