Hope Samsung has some big surprises with the Galaxy Nexus. The DROID RAZR is extremely tempting and have become more impressed of it than the G-NEX.

The RAZR is impressive, isn't it. I am not MORE impressed by it than the GNEX, but given my lower expectations for the RAZR, I was quite impressed by what is being reported about it ..

It does set the bar higher a bit I think for tonight ..

I'm impressed with the Razr's actual look, but the fact that it's not Android 4.0, along with the fact that it looks to be running Blur (or some Motorola UI), and other Motorola bloat, is kind of a turn off for me. Still very much interested in the Nexus, myself.

if they use cheap hardware why sell the phone at a high end price?

the features that ICS brings today is used by iphone and windows phone since months/years, so what they are selling that we can't belive?

You clearly don't know what you're talking about...even AFTER reading that blog post.

The blog post clearly illustrates why the more advanced hardware in Android occasionally still results in some software slowdowns, and that no faster hardware can really make up for that. It's the Software that is different, and being optimized.

The "feature" (not plural) of GPU acceleration was already in iOS, correct. That doesn't mean iOS is superior in general any more than any single Android feature that iOS doesn't have makes it better in general. It's the cumulative feature set that sets it apart. That's like saying since iOS5 included a notification bar, what is the point of getting it since Android has had that for years?

Definitely made my head turn. If for some unforeseen reason the Nexus was a total let down, I would definitely consider it.

I wouldn't consider another Motorola phone for myself unless it was stock ICS, and even then, it would have to be something like this, but not with that damned hump. That hump is to much.

I gotta say, by some of the pics popping up online right now, I'm not impressed with the amount of bezel on the phone. What's the point of going to all software buttons if there's huge bezel at the top and bottom anyways?

I agree. The razr is a lot better looking, but I'm keeping an open mind. I can't wait to hold both.

Smaller screen isn't necessarily a negative to me. 4.7" screen with that bezel = a huge phone. Still looks good, but I'm a bit disappointed with that

If I remember correctly, the Bionic was slated to be some extreme high end smartphone on par with the GS2, but turned out to be a huge delayed disappointment (from what I have read). I have more faith in Google and Samsung delivering something good than I do in Motorola.

After looking through CNet.com's brief rundown of the ICS features ( Galaxy Nexus - Savoring the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (photos) - CNET Reviews ), there is probably nothing that can stop me from getting this phone. If it doesn't have an LED notification light it will be very painful for me, but I'll probably still get it.

The 4th or 5th picture shows it side-by-side with a Nexus S, and it doesn't look that much bigger. I've seen pics of it next to an iPhone4s, and compared to that it looks like a behemoth.

Its significantly bigger than the Nexus S by phone standards. .5 h & .2 w bigger. That's a lot. Its bigger then the Galaxy S II. That us the one thing I'm disappointed with. I thought the whole idea of software buttons was to fit a bigger screen without the phone getting bigger. Failed midmserably on that front.

Dude. Then wait for the Razer and go out and buy it. I'm digging this phone because of the huge screen. I only spend about 10% of my time actually talking on a smartphone and the rest of the time using apps/surfing on it. I guess the nexus appeals to those of us who want more resolution and don't mind it being .5 to 1" bigger.
