I'll just go to the store friday morning, go to my last class of the semester at noon, then play with my Nexus instead of studying for finals. #winning #failing

I asked a friend that works at vzw about the GN when the rumored date was sometime Thanksgiving week. At the time he said he had no info, but just a couple days ago he messages me saying the 8th is the day. I know I know... rep said... but it seems to lineup with these rumors and like I said he didn't give a date before.

I hope it's Thursday, since that's the only date we've actually seen documented and that's usually when Verizon releases phones (with some exceptions). That would be a great present for me after turning in my final papers the same day!
I also trust droid-life as a good source, though...so Friday might be true. If they do a pre-order early next week, that would finally ease our anxieties. I definitely don't want the release to bleed into the following week.
I'll order it online if I can get it the same day it's released in stores; if not, then I'm going to go the stores. I hope the line isn't long. I'm crossing my fingers that the general public hasn't heard about it yet, so the line may be only moderately long. I do remember how quickly the DINC sold out, though (it didn't appear to be well known to the general public).
If I have to go the store to buy it, then I'm going to viewing it was as a learning to say "no" training. I could always build up my skills in that area. I will however, get a few accessories...but no insurance...

The way the false rumors and leaks popped up for this one. I'd venture to say we averaged about 10 "informed" store management leaks every week, since Hong Kong. lol

I don't think there is really a demand to warrant a preorder, it'll probably just sell in stores. The Nexus doesn't have iPhone like following, most android people I know just use the phone stock and are more than happy looking at razr/rezound . Also this phone is clearly coming on att&t also so I don't think it's going to cause mass exodus from other carriers

So, if it doesn't come out on the 8th or 9th, what are the odds that it's going to get pushed back into next year some time? Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't imagine they'd put out a new phone a week or two before Christmas, so if it's not out the first half of December, well...

do you guys think a verizon store in BJs would have this phone on release day? the BJs is closest to my job opens at 8 instead of 10 and I can go on my coffe break.

Don't do it. In the long run you pay more for insurance than it would cost to simply buy a replacement phone on ebay if you rarely damage your phones. Over a 20month contract Verizon charges something like $7/month so $140 there. On top of that the deductible is $50 if you should use the insurance. So you'll spend $190 to get an equivalent replacement phone when you can probably buy that equivalent phone on ebay for less. If you don't break phones often then don't get the insurance.
The only caveat to this is if you are a fruit phone owner. The apple store has an insurance policy where you pay $50 bucks 1 time and you can get 2 replacements. That sounds like an inexpensive insurance policy that I would take advantage of it I wasn't opposed to apple products.

When I got my bionic from costco, Verizon had it when the store opened. Costco had to wait on fedex to get their stock at about 11:00. The bundle pack that it came with was awesome and they were $20.00 less. Came with car dock, desk charger, spare battery and charger.
