Back to the off-contract price. You guys are saying that you would set up a new contract at $299 + whatever start-up fees and taxes there are, then cancel the next day and pay the full $175 ETF for a total of $474 and some change. So let's round up to $500. Then we get to keep the phone, right?

Then I can go pick up a new SIM card (edit: never mind, I just would never activate the SIM card on the new contract number), and activate the phone on my old, original contract and sell my Bionic for whatever the free market decides?

Is there anything I'm missing? That sounds way too easy on my part and way too dumb on Verizon's part.

Where are you getting $800 from? Verizon currently sells the RAZR and Rezound for $649 retail. The iPhone is $749, but I don't think the GN will price that high. I see it at $649.

The pricing will be $299.99 on a new plan or an upgrade, and a whopping $799.99 unactivated and off-contract.

Yes it will. Stores like Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc. are always more expensive than the Verizon stores. For example, right now the RAZR is $799 at Best Buy, but only $649 at Verizon.

ugh droid 4 with razr specs, good screen, and 4g is very tempting. Bootloader will eventually be cracked and battery life shouldn't be too bad on just a 4 in screen. Hurry up Nexus before i say f it.

Bootloader will probably never be cracked. It will just have root and a few Devs. Buy the D4, stop posting about it. We dont care what phone you buy.
