I've been using Maildroid for a while as it enables me to get push notifications for my Yahoo mail, which as far as I know is still not possible with the stock email app. I am considering switching to using the stock app though, both for Yahoo and Gmail, as I would then be able to read the emails on my Galaxy Gear smartwatch. If you are using the stock app with the shortest email check interval (15 mins), does that eat up your battery significantly faster than using a push email app (and does this make a significant difference on the Note 3, where we have a pretty long-lasting battery)? This was the main reason I started using Maildroid, since, as far as I understand, using push email saves battery.
