I just went through this with VZW myself. As long as you bought the S7 or S7E on Sept 10th of 2016 or before. You're eligible for the annual upgrade with trade in

Luckily for myself I bought the S7E on the cut off date. I wonder how long this 50% off deal lasts. I wanna wait a month after release. Just to make sure there aren't any issues. Hopefully it's still available during that time period

I had to go through a bunch of hoops a few weeks ago to find this all out because it doesn't show up on my account when I look it up. Luckily I still had the receipt and a screenshot of their policy from their website about it. Supposedly it'll show up on Sept 10th for me because that's when I bought the phone.

Guess I better figure out when I bought my S7E. It was after my second Note 7.

According to Verizon chat, I'd have to pay off the full amount, and then I'd get 50% off the Note 8.

I can't math right now. Too tired.

Got shot down hard by vzw. I still owe $495 to pay off my S7edge, they are not offering anything to former note7 owners like me. Have to pay off the 495 to be eligible to trade it in to get the note8. I told them I owe that much because I was forced to buy a new phone when the one I wanted, the note7 was recalled, so I'm stuck paying for a phone I didn't want :-(
Oh well.

Yes here we are, I really thought VZW would be happy to get us into new devices, but I was wrong. I really did not want the s7e but I went with it thinking if I stayed with samsung that would make a difference for the note8. VZW really does have the worst prices and customer service. From what I hear from friends Tmo is far better in this department.

I'll check the boards here to see if someone comes across anything for guys in my situation but I'm not confident that will be the case. Worst part is VZW charged us full retail price for the s7e no promotional price when they had us over the barrel.
I do have upgrades available on my other lines but I would have to still keep paying down the s7e and add a new payment for the note8, thats not ideal.

You will need to trade in anything from Galaxy S5 or newer, iPhone 5 or higher, LG G4 or higher, or a pixel phone.

If you owe money on an existing phone, that will have nothing to do with this offer. Personally i am paying off an S8+ and still owe about 20 months on it. I have an old Galaxy S5 i am going to trade in for the $425 credit and just pay $21/month for the new Note 8.

For some of you it might make more sense to just pay up to 50% of your phone and trade it in to do an early upgrade. I guess there is no definite answer with this, do your math and decide if its worth it to pay the $504.99 for a new note or keep what you already got.

I've still got the 2 year price available at 449. I think I'm gonna do the monthly payments though and sell my S7E to pay some other bills off. Thought they did away with those completely though?

How were you able to work everything out?

Live chatted an agent and she kept telling me to refresh the browser....eventually it updated. My main issue was that I was trying to PURCHASE the phone vs paying it off over time...the $475 off trade-in for previous Note 7 users is apparently only offered on the monthly payment basis....you choose the $40/month and it shows you the cost of the line ($20 on my plan), plus the cost of the Total Protection ($33 I think on 3 devices), so it looks like ~$90/month, but you net out what you're already paying for the line -$20 and the protection $-33, then the trade-in cuts the $40/month down to $20 and you're there.
I'm told you can pay that $20/month off if you want later....I don;t like having device payments out there.

Yes. The only way you get the discount is if the S7 edge is paid off. Then you would get 50% off when you trade it in.

And the bad thing is the N8 is not upgrade eligible after a year unless it's paid in full

I was one of the N7 owners. Long story short I returned it and stayed with my N4.

I was able to pay 30% up front with a 2yr contract for $28 a month for Note 8

I see verizon is offering 50% off the note 8 via dpp monthly credits with a trade in of a g6. Does anyone know if we can get the phone at bestbuy ($150 off) plus get the verizon dpp credit with a g6 trade in?

Did some quick math which I thought I'd share with everyone.

Vzn is charging $960 for the N8, minus $480 trade-in, plus $30 activation, so $510.

I have an S7E that I still owe $462 on (42% paid). I must pay that to Vzn FIRST, to get the $480 credit on the N8.

So effectively I must fork over $462 + $30 (to pay off the S7E & activate - no idea about taxes & fees)... and pay $480/24 per month. After 2 years, my net will be -$12 for upgrading.

If you're like me, loved my N7 & hate the S7E, a cost of $12 (plus taxes & fees) makes this offer EXTREMELY tempting!

Oh yeah, and because I was paying for each phone over 24 months, my monthly bill will drop by about $11/month (financing the S7E at $762/24 vs N8 at $480/24). Not really a net gain there, just a psychological one.
