Verizon: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Graceland is actually quite worth the visit; though I've never been. My late-fiancée sponsored her eldest son's trip there to get married on the grounds (I believe) not very long ago.

Funny you mention that, ever since my phone started out from Memphis I've had the Paul Simon song stuck in my head.

Well I'm sure Ty knows better than I do, but based on my recent experience you shouldn't get too excited because that's an empty box coming your way. You should have two order numbers, one for the phone (mine was a 10 digit number) and one for said box (mine was a 7 digit that started with 106).

You could log on to your Verizon account and navigate to my orders to find out for sure. Just promise me that if I'm right you'll tell Ty that random guy on a forum knows more than he does. Ha.

I'll be sure and inform Ty that he knows more than these random guys on the forums ;).

As well you should:D. That thought was fleeting on Friday when I first saw my FedEx notice. Mine's in Philly now. Real close.

Woohoo. My phone has arrived in Louisville KY at 9:17pm. That's about 30 minutes away from me.

Edit: my bad it's 23 minutes away lol

that's a different order number from your first post, but congratulations anyway!

Give Ty my best!

Yes, I'm getting the 50% off promo; however, not according to the long-time Verizon store employee, Ty, in which I have dealt with for five years now and he has always been correct. Ty indicated that my Note 8 will be delivered to my home. Upon delivery, I simply return my S7E to Ty at my Verizon store.

I would double-check because usually when you pre-order or order over the phone you have to return your old phone back through the mail and not in the store. I wouldn't take the store's rep word for it.

I have Verizon and supposed to be getting tomorrow according to fed ex tracking and it is currently in the city next to mine in the fed ex hub

Tomorrow is a holiday so you won't get it before Tuesday.

I take back everything I said. Mine is in Oakland. Which is like 6 miles from me. So I assume I will actually get it Tuesday/ Yay! Now to worry about the cases enroute, and to realize no one is actually home most of Tuesday. I hope a signed note will do. If not, the nearest Fed ex is within walking distance if they dont take it to some unreachable hub.

Verizon sent me a padded envelope, a bunch of instructions (don't send anything back with it, take out the sim. remember to wipe it, blahblahblah) and a label to put over the Fed Ex box it came in and send it back via UPS within 30 days. Will be doing that on Thursday. But yes, check with Verizon, because they told me I could absolutely NOT take it back to the store.

I believe it requires 'indirect signature' which means a note will do!

They are on the move. My Note 8 made it from Memphis to Sacramento, California today via FedEx. It looks like it will actually be here on Tuesday!

Just checked my tracking number and my phone is 20 miles away from me!! Are we all sure that FED EX is off tomorrow?

You could have save yourself some grief and ordered the Note 8 from a Verizon store. I love Costco, but being a Verizon user, I would never order a mobile device from other than a Verizon store. Anyway, that's my $0.02.

I found that out that hard way when I ordered a phone at Best But and when I needed to return it a few days later it took theme over 90 minutes to deal with the ONE person in front of me :/
