I'm having this same issue and I'm seeing these black webpages a lot, way too much for my liking. I don't like any of the other browsers and I'd like to stick with Chrome, so does anyone know how to fix this issue?


Additionally, anybody else experiencing the 3 second screen delay after pressing the power button? Essentially, every time I press the power button to turn on the screen to unlock it, it takes a full three seconds just for the screen to turn on. Any thoughts on fixing this too?

Have also noticed this happening. I'm guessing it is a Chrome issue though, which is odd, and hopefully will be fixed with an update for the app, have heard of no fix as of yet.

I don't know if mine is quite 3 seconds but it is noticeably longer than it used to be. Even my wife when using my phone told me it takes forever to come up after any button is pushed, either the home button or power button. Have no idea how to fix, but you are not alone in the issue FWIW.

One annoying thing is when you get a Facebook comment and click on notification, it doesn't open that comment. Once you swipe to unlock it will

The whole phone is just slower. Cache cleared with no difference. Texting is a nightmare; hell even the lock screen pin lags. Sammy really effed up this one.

Oh and the bug for missed call notifications not clearing the phone icon when the notification is cleared is still not fixed - a bug they introduced in like 4.1.1

People who don't Factory Reset have no right to complain about issues or performance.

I know that statement is anathema to some people, but it has always been like this - especially on Samsung phones.

After a major update (anything but a very small maintenance update), it's best to just go ahead and factory reset the phone.

Those who did that have no complaints, or very very few. Those who didn't can continue to complain about issues when the first resolution any OEM/Carrier will give them is to factory reset the device.

Just go ahead and do it.

Yes, I'm also having problems with volume after the update. Volume of music players (Google, Spotify) is cut by about 50%. If you move the volume setting to the middle, nothing at all can be heard. At full volume, it still sounds muffled.

Nope, nothing in my lock screen menu. At least not if I want to unlock with a pin code..

People who don't Factory Reset have no right to complain about issues or performance.

I haven't had any problems with the update, but many of us just can't factory reset whenever we feel like it. I use my phone for work for which my company reimburses me a nice percentage of my monthly bill. They use an app for the remote access and email that requires an acknowledgement code from the IT department to set it up again.......and they don't like us resetting and continually asking for the code again if we wipe our phones. If I were to reset I could be without my vital emails for some time waiting to get it set up again. I know many others on here also use their phones for work and can't reset all the time.

Work with your IT department to fix it. This is why I used a Windows Phone for work and Android for everything else when I needed a device for work use (don't anymore). WP and iOS handle updates a lot better than Android does. I have always ended up having to reset after major FW upgrades on Android... Its second nature now, and because of it I always avoid the issues others have after the updates.

NRayUK - In the past I have had audio related issues after an update on the S3 plus a Galaxy S back in the day. If your problem is like what I ran into, it affects other phones as well. I downloaded a program called AudioManager and adjusted the volumes there. It has volume settings for Voice Call, Media, System, etc. In my case the voice call setting got set really low so I had to turn it up there to get normal volume back. Hopefully that can help you out.

I did a factory data reset and still have a lag on the pin entry screen to unlock the phone. There is also a lag when pressing the home button to wake up the screen. I also find it annoying that when apps are moved to the SD card, the icon becomes transparent. I had a Galaxy Tab 3 that allowed apps to be moved to the SD card and this wasn't a problem.

I know these are relatively minor issues but an update should be an improvement.

I keep getting a download notification of "Letter" and "Letter 2" when I try to open it get "cannot open file". The notification comes back I try swipe to ignore and it comes back again. Anyone know what this is or how I get this to stop.

I don't use a PIN lock and still get a lag between pressing the home button and the screen actually lighting up. Also the phone is slower overall when compared to CM 10.2 I was running prior to getting this update...

Well the lag is reduced now that I've done a factory reset. Still not great though. I remember it being much smoother when I first got the phone. I wonder if they design it into these updates so you're "forced" to get a new device.

I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories like "they built in lag to make me upgrade". Rather, I suspect you have more apps and processes running than when you first got the phone and the apps themselves likely are getting bigger and bloatier.

Go into your Downloads "app" and clear all downloads from there. That should solve the problem.

That lets you know that they've been moved, doesn't it? That way if you start having problems with an app that's been moved, it's easy to identify. (Just a guess on my part, but it seems logical to me.)

Since I downloaded the new software last week, I can no longer sync into the bluetooth in my vehicle. It used to be automatic as soon as I turned my vehicle on, but now I have to do it manually, and even then, it doesn't consistently work.

I tried re-syncing the phone onto the bluetooth to no avail. Any ideas ??
