Verizon initialization taking over my LG Optimus

Have the LG Optimus Zone 3. Did not follow the precise guidance for wifi connection only. Now the Verizon initialization process is nearly complete. What is the best path to return to a wifi only configuration? Much thanks in advance for an informed reply.
