Verizon LG G2: Word on KitKat?

April 19th. Still nothing....does anyone else feel the G2 doesn't really get the credit it deserves? HTC and Samsung are always in the spotlight, including KK. Thoughts on this?

My thought is that by the real Apr 19, we still won't have the update :)

And yes, the G2 is very much a surprise to most people. But a pleasant one.

I complained to vzw on twitter. They said it is coming but no date yet. We will see

I used to think Sprint was pretty bad at pushing out updates but Verizon takes the cake.

I hope they enable ART runtime! It's awesome on my Nexus 7 2013.

Malladus has a nice KK ROM going right now in XDA, easiest so far to flash compared to others.

Honestly it has nothing to do wit anyone favoring one device over another as if you look every other carriers has released 4.4.2 to their s4 and note 3 yet Verizon is still no where to be found. So as you can see it is neither which device is favored or the manufacturer but it all falls back on Verizon sucking with updates

At this point it is certainly in the realm of possibilities that the G3 will be announced before Verizon ups the KK update. They just disappoint. Hard to understand their rationale, but it leaves a bad feeling here.

Verizon is probably waiting to finalize the Knock Code that LG said we will get and just pushing it out to us with kit kat.

I really hope that's not the case, since I believe I read LG will give us Knock Code in June.

I hope we get it, knock code seems like an awesome addition. Right now i think maybe verizon did not sell the phone well and so did not make enough resources to get the update certified

What is this "Knock Code" you folks are talking about???

As much as I understand your statement that maybe the G2 did not sell well and does not merit the resources. The HTC One Max did not sell well either but they pushed KK to that. Basically it comes down to who the hell knows why Verizon is taking so long to certify the update.
So impatiently we wait.

Verizon is a lot more strict on its requirements from Android then most carriers... Hense why Verizon always seems to lag! Its not LG or Android... HTC is having the same issue... All of there ATT/SPRINT/TMOBILE and US Cellular devices have Finished but the verizon devices keep getting pushed back to integration (Testing/Placement Phase)

Not really.. i mean yeah im sure they do have stricter things n what not, considering i don't see any glitches on my phone, but it's also the adding a bunch of useless apps that you can't delete like That football app..

They just released the LG Zone 2 for prepaid, and it has Kit Kat. What's the hold up here?
I swear, if AT&T betters their coverage where I live, I'm ditching Verizon.

I agree with you. The only reason I came back to Verizon, was the fact that they had better coverage in my area than any other carrier. Once AT&T or Sprint's coverage is comparable, I don't plan on sticking around.

In my opinion, Verizon needs to 1.) get updates out quicker to customers and 2.) stop ruining the phones by putting the Verizon logo EVERYWHERE. In all seriousness, I almost did not purchase Verizon's LG G2 because of the ridiculous logo on the front. Verizon: I'm not proud to be a Verizon customer....I'm embarrassed by it...so stop making me advertise for you by putting your logo all over my phone.
