Verizon Nexus 6 on Sprint?

Hello, I have a Verizon Nexus 6 (I think- came direct from Motorola, to replace a dead Moto X 2nd Gen from Verizon)..

Has anyone ever used a Verizon Nexus 6 on Sprint? If so, do the Verizon apps just get disabled (voicemail, Verizon messaging) when you switch Sim cards? Or does it factory reset your phone when it sees you're on a new carrier?

Wife wants a new phone and she is a Samsung fan. Sprint is practically offering it to us for free to switch back from Verizon.

No, you will not be charged for it by Sprint. Some 3rd party stores may try, but that isn't Sprint, just a store trying to rip off a customer.
