I've just now noticed that after I got the oreo update I got this new app called Samsung Max in my app list. Anyone else? I'm trying it out for now.

I can't get picture-in-picture mode to work. I've looked at several videos and I think I'm doing it correctly. Any suggestions? I'm on Verizon with a stock Note 8

Use one finger, touch the top right corner and drag your finger down towards the middle of the screen

my wireless charging stopped working. light comes on the charger and battery icon on always on display has lightning bolt indicating it's charging, but no worky. even checked battery use in settings and it didn't show any charge. restarted phone, still nothing...

Yeah mine came on my phone automatically after oreo update cause I never downloaded it. Lol.

I did. Now the light went even come on the charger. Hate factory resetting. Any more ideas?

I did. The light won't come on the charger now. It's a convertible charger you. Not an offbrand. Went through this when I initially bought the phone to. Took 3 returns to get it right. Had been flawless for months. Now I'm afraid of the run around again. Any more ideas besides factory reset?

Answering my own questions:
Custom notifications for contacts are gone.

Does this include the ringtone for calls as well as texts or are they just gone for text/SMS messages only?

If only for messages, I have a workaround for that but if custom ringtones for individual contacts for calls is gone as well, I'm not updating to Oreo.

Have had a few glitches with the Oreo update, did clear partition cache before and after. Had to remove Samsung account... notifications appearing a lot. Gone now. Some of the email and message notifications were changed/altered... cleaned them up. MAIN PROBLEM... battery life with Nougat was 6-7 hours SOT. Now with Oreo... five Hours SOT. That's a huge decrease! No new apps, basically same settings. Will monitor. Frankly, I hope Oreo is NOT a battery hog!

My Verizon Note 8 has the same wireless charging issue. In addition, Samsung Pay no longer works either. Did you end up hard resetting? I don't want to go back through that to get these features back, but fear that's my only option... Ugh!

Can you tell me what your work around is? I use custom notifications alot and I am so bummed it's gone!! If I can't find a work around, how do I go back to Nougat! Thanks

The workaround is to use a different sms app.
I'm using mood messenger for now.
