Verizon- pie update?

ya I got tired of waiting for my 10yr olds note9 to get pie since my 9+ already received it so I went and downloaded the CSAA firmware, he loves the night mode..this was one of the the best android updates they have made

I'd imagine we will get hit with that update then. If they release something other than CSAA.

The way I'm understanding the new updates, they are all the same, carriers can't change it, they can only deny releasing it. If there is any issues Samsung releases the fix. I'm sure I'm not 100% correct, there's probably more to it, but bottom line is future updates will come to your phone.

My last 48 hours with the update.
since installing the update I have been on my phone constantly (except for sleep) to test every option I could find and have not really found any problems Thanks to all for posting all the information on doing the update and all the explanations of future updates. It helped me decide to do it.

I did the sideload update on Verizon and everything seemed to go off without a hitch.

However, I'm no longer receiving notifications from the Gmail app regularly. When I open the app, the notifications then all drop, but if I haven't opened the app in a while, I get nothing. Any thoughts? All settings look to be the same previous to the update where there was no issue with notifications.

I would long press the Gmail app the press info and by notification make sure everything checked to receive.

Everything is checked...as far as I can tell. I must be missing something but there are so many layers in the settings for that app that I may be missing something.

Anyone else who did the pie update notice HD video calls no longer work? I have two Note 9's and can't make video calls now.
