Verizon- pie update?

What's the latest you have heard with regard to the pie drop from big red Icey? We still looking at the end of the month?

Sadly the time table is end of the month Verizon wireless has stated to internal employees that this device update is not top priority and they are working on final results. Whatever the hell that means.

Yeah, tried that, same result. Also another weird thing, all my paired Bluetooth devices (Gear S, 3, two headset, laptop, mouse, and tablet) disappeared randomly. Easy enough to redo but never had that happen before.

Looks like a factory reset is probably the answer at this point. Something isn't gelling with the update as is.

I had the paired bluetooth issue happen yesterday. Overnite they all disappeared easy to fix but never lost them before.

Thanks for the update Icey,,,,we can always count on you to keep us in the know. Much appreciation.

You can try that , sometimes new OS updates change settings for some unknown reason

I think I fixed it. Apparently I had the phone in a light power save mode when I did the update that carried over some goofy settings. Even though Gmail was set to have no restrictions, the phone must have been shutting it down after a few minutes of inactivity. I found that power setting and turned it off, voila, notifications are back

I was fortunate to find it as I was digging around one last time during a backup prepping for the factory reset. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a result from the ridiculous layering of settings now. It seems certain top level OS functions can override "do not touch" settings for individual apps. I'm not sure I can even put it back how it was to verify as I just get lost in all these menus.

That's great , Good thing you didn't have to do factory reset, but the medium power saving mode probably overrides any rules you applied to save battery further , so that makes sense but glad its working.

Just noticed,

My bluetooth in my car doesn't work what I had to do was clear the bluetooth connections and reconnect them.

Why did this happen simple.

Pie updated drivers in bluetooth its smarter and uses less consumption on the battery. Let me know if anyone else is having werid issues it took me 3 minutes to fix. I have over 50 bluetooth devices.

I had the same issue staying connected to my Garmin watch. Ended up taking me over an hour to find the answer on Garmin forums.

Just updated, LOVE IT! Can someone tell me if I can delete the update file from my SD card once it's loaded?

Yes, I had to re-pair all of my bluetooth devices.

Internal Verizon employee states that the pieupdate should be launched end of month and ready 1st of March 2019 for mass distribution.
