A staff member of mine received it last night. I had him show me his "About" page to prove it and, sure enough, it says Android 9.

I side loaded it on my phone yesterday. Maybe I should have just waited one more day.

This staff member is the only one reporting that they have been pushed the update by Verizon. I'm skeptical.

I took the leap and applied the official update to my phone via sideload. Love the update, but soon realized a flaw that is apparently on Samsung and not the carriers. It seems that the CSAA version for the US variant causes the compass to be off by 90 degrees. Does not seem to affect navigation, but doe cause wonky positioning on maps. Have also seen that it does not play well with those who use for drone operation. Samsung acknowledges this across their community, and it seems there will be a service patch with no official ETA.

Yep, we've got a thread already 3 or 4 pages long on it here - it's insane. Who would have thought an OS Update could affect a hardware sensor?

In the none Pie version, go to settings, connections, advanced calling, WiFi Calling... Of course HD Voice and Video need to be on as well.

He made it sound like it was rolling out so .. I updated the title. Apparently not the case.

No worries -- don't freak out. Believe it or not I can actually edit the title unlimited times!

Can I download the Pie update zip file before, the SD card is inserted and should I shut the phone down before, installing the SD card? Waiting for pictures to be removed from card still. Thanks!

Sd card has to be in that's how it reads the files

Lol no worries. It sucks Verizon and them go so quiet on updates -- it is one of the things that drove me off Samsung and stuff haha.

The T-Mobile one got pushed back to March so maybe the VZW did as well ?

Your welcome
Download the file to the sd card make sure it's not encrypted
Restart the device before it starts
1.hold Bixby,volume up,power then after u see the android bot release
2. Scroll with volume buttons and select sd update and power button to select that file
3.wait 15 to 20 minutes it will reboot
enjoy pie
