Verizon Pixel Oreo update.

Carriers are the sole reason for slow updates and Verizon is the slowest!!!

I did the OTA update today. Within a minute or two into downloading the update I got an error message saying couldn't download. I'm guessing that's because the download was still fairly new and the servers were pretty busy. It let me resume without any issues though.
I have a question... on nougat I had the boot up sound turned off. Now I'm on Oreo and I don't see a setting to toggle the bootup sound.... where is it?
Also the bootup time seems way faster so that's very appreciated! It was pretty fast before but now it seems at least three times faster.

does anyone on Verizon see the adaptive icons feature in settings? it appears it was removed unless I'm looking in the wrong spot

Adaptive icons, aka "Change icon shape"?
You have to turn on Developer options. I had enabled it by tapping on "build number" repeatedly, but then turned it off, and the icon shape option was missing. Turning it on brought this option back.

I also just noticed when installing a new app it automatically puts an icon on one of the home screens. I don't see an option in the play store to change this, am I overlooking it?
Also the app Advanced Task Manager by infolife LLC no longer works. I contacted the developer.
EDIT: Never mind about the app shortcuts. To change this setting long press on your wallpaper/a home screen then click the settings gear. There will be an option that says "add icon to Home screen"

Press and hold on the home screen. Go into settings. It's there. Not sure if it's something you need Developer Options enabled to see or not.

Well people will certainly write articles and threads saying to be careful about getting the Pixel 2 on Verizon because they might delay updates, because people are...I don't wanna say stupid, so I'll just say that people are entitled to their opinions.

I doubt it with the Pixel thing. I mean I know you really really like to harp on that for people but I think Verizon has shown they have kept their promise with this Pixel :P.

Thank you I found it also. I have developer options enabled but am not sure if they need to be to see that option. Do you know anything about the start up sound? Also does anyone know how to change the three icons at the bottom of the screen... Like the back/center/square buttons at the bottom? I know on some phones you can change the order or what they look like.

I just checked for updates, said my system was up to date, checked again and got the Oreo update download link! Installing now!

And I wasn't on the beta program.

Got it on Verizon, I like that now when you lift to wake you then need to double tap to open which stops inadvertent taps when it goes in the pocket immediately after the lift to wake

I installed it last night. Went smoothly...a few Bluetooth Audio issues in my car but overall, not bad.

I can verify that there are significant Bluetooth issues with my UCONNECT. Podcasts and music do not show the information on the screen and it drops in and out way too much. I've unpaired and repaired with no improvement.

I hope this gets fixed for the Bluetooth in Uconnect issues. The only way for me to get my song data back is to disconnect and reconnect my phone from the Uconnect screen.

This is about 50% of the time. The rest of the time it works as it should. This is the same issue I've had on three different Uconnect Vehicles, a Dodge Ram, a Dodge Durango, and a Dodge Journey.

There is a bunch of Bluetooth options in developer options. I don't know enough about the different options to know if any of these would make a difference but maybe someone who does could chime in
