No the phone I traded for s10+. I think it was note 8, not sure. You had money owed on the s10+ they accepted it ?
Yeah...now that I think about it as long as it's not a subsidized device you might have no issues. Of course you still have to make the payments. You had money owed on the s10+ they accepted it ?
That's what was told to me. You have a credit limit with your carrier, it's like a credit card dealYeah...now that I think about it as long as it's not a subsidized device you might have no issues. Of course you still have to make the payments.
Ok thanksNo the phone I traded for s10+. I think it was note 8, not sure.
The understanding I was told is that what you owe on the phone is unsecured credit, you're still on the hook to pay for it irregardless if you have the phone or not
I went thru Samsung direct for that one
Makes sense , I think lolYeah...now that I think about it as long as it's not a subsidized device you might have no issues. Of course you still have to make the payments.
I believe if you are making payments on Verizon you have to pay it off before they will let you make payments on a new device or trade it in the same line, but it's been awhile.Makes sense , I think lol
I always thought if it's a Samsung device your trading in even if you purchased through carrier and doing installments that it wouldn't matter as Samsung could talk to the carrier to not black list it as they have possession but if you failed to pay the carrier could ruin your credit and be in collections . . I could be wrong but that's what my thinking was about it.I believe if you are making payments on Verizon you have to pay it off before they will let you make payments on a new device or trade it in the same line, but it's been awhile.
I ordered the S20+ through Verizon. I don't have a trade-in, so the $150 discount (plus, I'll get the $150 Samsung credit after receiving the phone) made it the best deal for me.
In this instance I was referring Verizon to Verizon tryimg to get a new device on the same line while you still have payments.I always thought if it's a Samsung device your trading in even if you purchased through carrier and doing installments that it wouldn't matter as Samsung could talk to the carrier to not black list it as they have possession but if you failed to pay the carrier could ruin your credit and be in collections . . Was curious if Samsung knows if the device is paid off , they run imei ?

Thanks !They don't. I traded in my note 9 for the S10+ because I was still getting promotional credits with Verizon.

Yeah,I paid for the phone, no financingAs long as your account is in good standings the imei is clean. Samsung doesn't communicate with the carrier unless you're trying to do financing with the carrier. With the instant trade in promos it's easier ti just pay for the new device in full.
Yea, Verizon makes you pay off the phone before someone else can activate it
I still owe over $1,100. and it seems like I've had this phone forever![]()
You can definitely trade the phone in to Samsung even though you owe on it. Verizon won’t do anything about it. As long as you keep paying on it, You’re good. I’ve done it multiple times and you me on here and where i work, So I’m good for it.
That's also trueAlso, If it was bought through Verizon on a device agreement, You have the early upgrade option where you could pay it up to 50% and trade it in and then enter new agreement with Ultra.
Good things to know , that's why I brought up the question because I never tried and maybe someone would like to but thinks because there on a installment plan they can't , just they will have to finish the instalment plan that's all after the trade it in .You can definitely trade the phone in to Samsung even though you owe on it. I prefer buying it outright but I realize it's not realistic for everyone or its easier to swallow a little bit at a time, especially at the prices we are seeing today.Good things to know , that's why I brought up the question because I never tried and maybe someone would like to but thinks because there on a installment plan they can't , just they will have to finish the instalment plan that's all after the trade it in .
