Verizon S3 to Straight Talk

so i beginning to think the reason its not working for me is because im on android 4.3.. has anyone else with 4.3 got it to work yet? plus i soft bricked my phone trying to downgrade to 4.1.2 so im in the process of fixing that with odin which so far is going horribly but this last thing i found on xda might work if not this phone is going in the dumpster outside

Jared it does the same to me it does that when u don't have service. When I'm in the house it does that but I step outside and EDGE comes up

Dennis I went outside and to town and it still didn't work my area has 4g AT&T service even inside my house but I just cant seem to get this working at all on mine I'm seriously thinking its because I have 4.3 maybe I just need to drive a couple hours to Atlanta and see if that works lol but anyway I tried with a T-Mobile straight talk sim card and it didn't work with it either maybe I should just give up and use my Firefox phone for now and just have this phone for something pretty to look i just want to know if anyone with 4.3 has gotten this to work and how they did it I've tried phone info app it just crashes when I open it I've tried just about everything I can think of

I tried my Verizon s3 with 4.3 and it worked on tmobile, but edge only

Advanced Signal Status: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.cc.signalinfo is a better replacement that does work on 4.3.

You're referring to the app I listed? There's no 'advanced' button.

Did you uninstall the 'phone info' app?

I can only assume that you installed it so that you can specify an operating mode for the radios (GSM; EDGE; etc)

But I don't want to use cdma I'm wanting to use gsm I have an AT&T straight talk sim that I cant get working but others with the same phone have it working I don't want to flash it to straight talk but it seems that's what I'm going to have to wind up doing

Did you not see the other options in the screenshot? CDMA happens to be the setting I have enabled - there are others that you can set.

Are you sure you want to?
Hasn't the OTA been offered on your phone?
Have you tried using the Kies software on your PC to perform the update?

Which model/carrier/firmware?
(And what does that have to do with the original topic?)

I have a Verizon Gs3 version 4.1.2 I don't know about OTA and I haven't tried the kies software update...its to get my internet and picture message working, that's what I need help with

And this info is for those who don't want to keep Verizon and like to use T-Mobile or ATT.
