Verizon S8 / S8+ Pre-Order Discussion

Ok, lucky me gets to go thru this. Credit card I used to pay for the S8 has been lost and now is cancelled. I'm with Verizon, is there a way to change payment source.? I called Verizon and don't feel comfortable with what she said. She notated the account, filed a form that they should call me for updated payment info. This doesn't sound right to me and a disaster waiting to unfold.

I asked that, but she didn't give a answer, just said that she filed a form. I bill to my account all the time, pay it every time, I don't know why it's an issue this time around. Online when I ordered it wasn't an option, I can go order $400 of accessories and it gives me the bill to account option. I didn't process the order, I just wanted to see if the bill to account option came up, and it did.
 
So I just spoke with a Verizon Rep. Said I had my order and noticed they said "processed." So I pushed further and they said it will process when it ships out on 4/21...sigh.

I think they are just told to say that.

Of course they are told to say that...they become evasive or throw attitude to throw you off..trust me I know
 
So I plugged my info into the VZW order status page and it says order not found 😠 but when I sign into my account my orders are there...weird.
 
Well called Verizon again, they tried to enter a different payment card and system wouldn't let them. She did say I would have to have a new card for payment by the 17th before we tried to change it. So take that for that it's worth.

So, supervisor told me to keep an eye on my emails, when the card is denied they will email me and I have 3 days to provide a new payment. So worse case scenario I get phone a day later, hopefully I get email early in day so I can get it changed right away.

Anybody go thru card denied with Verizon, is this how it works?

They said I cant bill it to account because it's tax, upgrade fee, and down payment required since I'm upgrading a line still under contract.

And for some reason, my upgrade amount (like $120) and taxes were billed to my account. I have thought that was odd this whole time. I ordered 4/6. Talked to CS reps 3 times and they all say my order is good. I even asked if I would be charged closer to ship date the upgrade amount and taxes and they say no. So I don't know what the deal is and I will be irate if my device isn't in my hands 4/21.

The three of us actually will be upset actually because my bill was charged to my account as well

I have a feeling, they are going to charge me the whole price of the device to my account. Which is going to cause a ton of problems! And may cause cardiac arrest when I see an extra $916 charged to my account!
 
Everything was charged to my account. I really could have just purchased it right off the bat but I was just too excited lol. Once I get the phone I am paying it off that Monday

I knew there were some on here that had it direct bill to their account. It's weird how Verizon's system works at times. They still insist you can't direct bill taxes and the $126 down which was required because the line is still under contract till December. Out of curiosity I put $400 of accessories in my cart and at check out the bill to account option was there, I do BTA all the time.

I'm getting itchy.... every time I buy something new or have to wait for the latest big thing to be shipped. I'm just hoping by Monday they update the status and say something like preparing to ship or sent to shipping. :cool:

When I did the note 7 last year, I had the taxes and upgrade fees charged to my card but that is different tuts time around. Like you, I just hope I receive the phone on Friday or Saturday and then pay it off on Monday.

I'm thinking about doing the trade in on one of my spare phones. With the $126 down payment and the trade in I can get the payment down to $10 month on the S8+. That gets me the phone for $366, but hate the fact of dragging out the $10 payments for 2 years.

My other option is sell 2 of my spare phones on swappa and pay it off. I'll probably do the trade in promotion.

I am selling my s7 edge on swappa and add some money..boom it's paid off...i budgeted the expense when I did my taxes this year so it's all good
 
I wanted my new device on device payment plan. But I have a feeling I will get charged for full amount of phone on my next bill.
