I went to help my parents get 2 droid 1's on friday and was trying to ask the lady about when they would open and how many the expected to have and when etc etc. she was honestly being kind of a bitch and not giving much info at all. I'll call and ask someone else to find out if when etc.
Verizon shipping Droid X Early?

The CSR I just got off the phone with denied any X's shipping out and another had told me that they were all shipped out? One had told me if anyone has the X they got them from a 3rd party and not VZW
I wouldnt believe any of those CSR's, from what Ive been reading here and based on my own experience I would have asked for a Supervisor personally.
edit: I dont know if its shipping, a few may have got through but ordering X's through a third party thats BS.

That's what I thought about the buying through a 3rd party to when the CSR told me that. I'm going to call later and ask for a supervisor and hopefully get one ordered
How did you get them to move your August date? Mine is August 8th and the CSR I spoke to wouldn't budge mine. Did you really press the envelope? I have the S1 and the X on pre-order at Best Buy (1st in line) and would love to get my date pushed back.
Honestly, it's really just a crapshoot.
If you want to go to a direct source, ask to speak to a supervisor when you call in inquiring about your upgrade date.
A few other beneficial factors:
- Long time customer
- Have several phones/family plan (more money = better customer
)
- Stress the situation that you are looking to upgrade and stick with "Big Red" for another 2 years
- I would say, if you are within 30 days of an upgrade, your case should have some validity to it.
- Try, try again.

Just got off the phone with Verizon CSR and she talked to her supervisor and they moved my new every 2 upgrade date to today so no waiting until August!!! Yippee!! I was very polite and didn't mention the Droid X, just that my Storm was my 3rd S1 and it again has been giving me problems. Now if BB gets in early shipments it will be like Christmas in July!

Well I talked to a VZW SR on Sunday originally about upgrading to the Droid X. She was super nice (for once) and she said she lived in the city I worked.. Small world I ended up serving her and her family about 2 weeks ago at BJ's ... LOL. Once we figured out that she did whatever she can to help me. I told her the problems I was having with my Storm after having it for 2 years (pulling the battery multiple times a day, slow OS, etc). My NE2 date however was August 31, 2010. Her supervisor wasn't there however, so we ended our call.
The next day she calls me back. She bumped my NE2 date up to July 15th, I will be receiving the $100 credit for my NE2 as well as the $100 rebate, and she is shipping the Droid X out via Next day shipping on July 15th so I will receive it on the 16th. WOW. I have never had a CS rep as nice as her, ever.
I guess you just have to get lucky...

How did you get to order the X? I called and talked to a CSR and Supervisor and both told me I had to wait untill the 15th because of what happened with the Dinc.
I walked into a VZW brick building Sunday and ordered mine, paid my 323 dollars and was told i would be called the second it was in, i recieved a call today saying it might be in the store as early as this weekend and i could pick it up then. So all you nah sayers, it can be done.

Yep, its true--just got mine....still hot from sitting in the truck all day, driver looked like toast.
Charging up now before I can play with it, need to activate before you can use it. Looks impressive though, makes my itouch look like a toy.

Just called and spoke to a pleasant CSR who simply told me that they are not allowed to do preorders for the Droid X. She said some had been done 'accidentally' and when VZW brass found out they pretty much ended that party. As for the @Droidlanding twitter feed, I was given the impression that those phones being Twittered about are a calculated viral marketing campaign that is completely separate from the few DX's we've read about people receiving in this thread.
