Verizon showing Gingerbread for X2

Unfortuanetly, you can't. This update is only for the X2. Since they are two different phones with different hardware, the updates aren't compatible between the devices.
Your only option is to wait for Verizon to fix it or root and find a rom that fixes the issue.

You would think that if they found a fix for it on the X2 that the fix would apply for the X as well.

One problem I'm having since the upgrade to gingerbread is that my WiFi does not work. It tries to connect to access points then disconnects. It has worked a few times but not that much. This is any access point or wireless router I try. Eveything else seems to work good. no more lag, only one random reboot , when I was talking to our other network admin, his rebooted at the same time.
