Verizon to begin throttling video on all plans

That is a very specific issue and to my knowledge there isn't anything like that now a days. The Note 3 was a long time ago.
Yes it was. Doesn't mean they couldn't do it again. I believe you when you say they are not and appreciate your response. I just wanted you to understand there is a valid reason for my concern. There is precedent and they got away with it.

I agree -- it was crappy but that was years ago and I haven't ever heard of anything like that again so I truly doubt it is going to happen. Especially with phones having better screens and Netflix also maturing to where the person can choose the quality on their end (even over cellular).

The great screens on new phones are what pisses me off so much about this throttling conspiracy. Spend a over a grand on a phone with accessories, pay for "unlimited" data only to be prevented from enjoying the phone's best feature. It amazes me how little outcry there is. I guess most new Sammy owners are gamers rather than streamers. I love watching Netflix in highest possible resolution my device can provide.

You still can... on WiFi. That would likely be their reasoning for it anyway. But like many, if I’m on WiFi I can watch programs on a 55” 4K HDR TV so why bother with my phone? This is similar (although not equal) cable television in the sense that the majority of users have 4K/1080p yet cable broadcasts in 720p/1080i. I mean come on... get with the times for what cable costs!
