Verizon vs att

I'm a 20 year att customer holding on to 2 unlimited plans but paying $300+ a month as my son goes over his 3 GB every month.
The att plans are weak compared to Verizon 10gb with 10 GB bonus advertised for $80 + 15 per phone.
That's $140 for four phones sharing 20 GB?
1)anyone using this plan?
2)the talk and surf is a must....is the advanced calling everywhere and does it work 100% of the time?
Yes I will try to leverage att,but not holding my breath.

I am on T-Mobile but from a technical aspect I can say #2 should work .. as long as you have LTE. If it drops then you won't have voice and data. I am not sure if it drops on a weak LTE connection though.

In order to keep my unlimited I added a new line for the g4 with 2gb on the edge program (my daughter will use this new line when the time comes) and it dropped my monthly plan to $158 a month. It's not a lot but it's a pretty good price for 3 lines. In my opinion Verizon has really great service. I rarely have a problem. Not like my friends with other carriers who always have problems getting service.

Remember it is $15 a line + phone payment .. otherwise there really isn't any small print to mess with you .

80+ 60 or $140 for 4 phones? That is half of what I pay at att with my overages. I would think I can tether with this plan too. Is there another fee besides the 80 for phone attributes?

I have the $80 plan with 2 lines and I switched over from AT&T. I was overpaying for phones and for service on AT&T. Look at the difference in prices of phones alone. Same S6 is at least $100 more on AT&T, G4 is more expensive on AT&T and same for other phones. I've had better coverage on Verizon and better service so far. I can switch from i6+ to G4 without calling anyone and everything works without any issues. With AT&T, I had to call them every single time to enable FaceTime after switching to i6+. People call Verizon evil but for what I'm getting from them, it's worth it.

Yep you can tether with it. Also no you had it correct.

$80 - Pool of data (10GB)
$15 - Per line
$20-30 - Per line (phone payment -- unless you pay them off early. Once paid off this drops off.

Cool,so now that 10gb is 20gb...dang. I also would just buy phones,but would have to sell our att versions....don't like the monthly payment thing.

Yep. Just remember that 20 GB goes to 10 GB after a year I believe. The 20 GB bump is just a temporary promo.

I saw that...surely the plans will get more aggressive with competition...although att hasn't run a special this year

Yeah they will run promos on occasion .. Such as some people on Verizon (and AT&T) got the "Double Data" promo and are enjoying 30 GB for the price of 15 GB. When those come around keep an eye out and nab them .. They usually won't email or notify you about them.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of new phones.
You will not be able to bring your AT&T branded phones over to Verizon also.

Yes....factored in that we can get an OK amount for our att version...but even comparing att share data plans,they aren't close to this cost.

So Verizon offers a 10gb plan for 80 bucks but also has a promo 10gb plan to go with it? I can't find that deal anywhere.

App is not letting me attach photo,but they are adding 10 GB to their 10 GB for $80 plan. They also are giving $300 for your phone.
Att doesn't give two craps and offers nothing to keep a 20 year customer.

At&T has been aggressively marketing their Cricket brand though. The last promotion was $55 on auto pay for 20 GB data.
