I'm a 20 year att customer holding on to 2 unlimited plans but paying $300+ a month as my son goes over his 3 GB every month.
The att plans are weak compared to Verizon 10gb with 10 GB bonus advertised for $80 + 15 per phone.
That's $140 for four phones sharing 20 GB?
1)anyone using this plan?
2)the talk and surf is a must....is the advanced calling everywhere and does it work 100% of the time?
Yes I will try to leverage att,but not holding my breath.

DFW Huh? I live in Sanger (10 miles north of Denton) and work at DFW Airport. The first part of your question regarding 2 unlimited lines would stop me right there. I average 50 GBs per month on each of my 2 unlimited lines, so no way would I'm ever give those up. Now, where I live I have to use my cell phones as Internet to get decent speeds, so that's why the heavily used data.
Here's my VZW bill for you to compare to your current AT&T bill:
1400 Minutes Family Plan w/unlimited text on all 4 lines (I don't need 1400 minutes, but can't change this.)
2 - Unlimited SmartPhones + each has the additional $30 per month Hotspot option.
1 - 2GB per month SmartPhone
1 - Dumb Phone
I pay $280 per month.
So, here's my experience:
I've been with Verizon since 2002 coming from Cingular. It's still the best signal in the DFW area IMO, however, AT&T put a bunch of repeaters around DFW Airport, so here at work, AT&T is the best signal. Currently I'm carrying 2 devices. 1 from Verizon and 1 from AT&T. The Verizon gets the fastest speeds of the two. They both get about the same signal in the metroplex, but Verizon blows AT&T out of the water at my house.
I live in Sanger 4 miles to the west off I-35. I'm lucky to get 2 bars (averaging about -108 dBm) at my house with the AT&T phone, but I get 4 bars (Averaging about -93 dBm) with Verizon. My Verizon phone downloads about 30-40 Mbps while the AT&T phone gets about 9 Mbps at my house in Sanger.
My wife carried an AT&T phone for work the past two years and ended up carrying her Verizon phone as well because it got signals were AT&T did not in downtown Dallas. She too experienced slower speeds on her AT&T phone. So much so that she'd turn on her Verizon hotspot and connect to it with her AT&T phone to get downloads faster.
Forget about T-Mobile. I had them with my iPad and they are lower and slower in the big metroplex. The fastest I ever got was 9 Mbps and I never saw all 5 dots on my iPad with the T-Mobile card.
Sprint's not good here either. When we moved to Sanger in 2007 I had a Sprint 3G card for my laptop. I couldn't keep a signal at my house and ended up having to get DSL. I turned the card off shortly after moving to Sanger.
I have friends at work that have Sprint and I'm always amazed at how crappy their service is. They'll lose conversations driving from one side of the airport to the other. So much that they know were all the dead spots are and will tell you they are about to lose you and they'll call you back. You can forget about Sprint off the highway here. It's useless.
Now, that's been my experience. I doubt everyone will agree. I've seen many replies from others around DFW. I think they'll give you the best response to your question.
