Very Interested in Note 2. Worried about one handed use!

I'm just a little disappointed that the note 2's screen is narrower than the note 1. I'm not sure why they did that.

Apparently, these dimensions allow the display to show video, etc., in 16:9, so we won't be watching content with those lovely black bars above and below the image. That's right, "Big Top Pee Wee" in full HD view, right out to the edges of the screen!!

I was worried about this as well, so I've been playing around with the Note 1 in stores when I see it. I must have larger hands then I thought because I was easily able to handle the Note 1 with one hand. With the Note 2 being slimmer in width, it might be a bit easier for one handed use.

The 5.5" Note 2 screen is .1" narrower than the 5.3" Note screen because of the 16:9 aspect ratio. It's .3" taller.

I have small hands and a note. I have used it one handed for calls and texting and Web browsing. Most of the time I use it two-handed but that's probably because i use the s-pen a lot. It's easy to hold one-handed, resting on your little finger. Fire longer documents just hook it up to a Bluetooth keyboard, by longer I mean a PhD thesis. The note II looks more phonelike, probably to help people like me remember that it's a phone when:) forcing it to operate like a laptop.

I'll be using this on my Note 2...

FlyGrip - Welcome

Using the kickstand as a grip is the main reason I will miss my OG EVO. That kickstand works well as a pinky grab when I'm holding the phone.

I've never seen the FlyGrip. If it doubled as a belt-clip-holder thingy, I'd like it even more. Because of the extra bulk at the bottom of the phone, does the FlyGrip help to keep your S3 in your pocket? could be valuable with the extra length on the Note 2.

No belt clip, but it does keep it in your pocket. Definitely not hard to take it back out, but it's not going anywhere unless you want it to.

I have no doubt that I will be able to use the Note 2 one handed with this. Still going to mount it to whatever case I get; I did a Touchstone mod (inductive charging) to my SIII, and plan to do one to my Note 2 as well.

Not to mention that I don't trust myself not to drop my phone, so I always use cases.

I'm replying to this thread one handed and I have small hands. It's not quite as easy as it is with a smaller phone but it's not difficult. I'm not shifting the keyboard, just cradling the phone with my pinky in portrait mode and typing with my thumb. I don't often use my phone one handed but I can do so with the Note2 if I choose to do so.

One more showing how it sits while closed...

Hey Uncle Louie, put that in a separate post as a review. This is a cool attachment to a phone.

edit: It also protects the camera lens!

Uncle Louie, that is a HANDy attachment. Thanks for showing that. I've never been one to use just one hand with my iPhone. I'm getting the Note2 because of the screen real estate and i'm not ready to drop money on a tablet at the same time. So a 5.5" screen is just right for me. So glad I waited this out. Me and the wife are jumping ship to Android powered phones come November and we are not looking back.

Oops just saw pics of white version. Why did you put black one on white note 2?

In the video? He probably did it for the contrast. I bought the white one even though I put it on a black case. Doesn't look bad either way, really.

Did you see the other videos he made with the Note 2? There's 3 or 4 now.

I'm guessing from watching several of his older videos that he's a previous iphone user and the way he loves the new Note 2 makes me want this phone so bad. I am going to break out in hives if I don't get this unit soon....
