My galaxy s3 running on 4.1.2 is taking like 10-12 hrs to charge, this problem started just after upgrading ti jelly bean.I tried a hard reset but that didn't fix the problem.I plugged in my phone at 11 pm when battery wast at 5% and when I woke up and checked my my phone at 5:30 am it was still at 40%.Is anybody else having this problem and how do I fix it?

Sometimes I also have the same problem. To make charging faster, I usually turn the phone off. It worked.

I did that didnt work for me so I looked on youtube and they have a video saying let ur battery kill the phone and charge it to 100% and then turn the phone back on and should be fixed so I tried it today and it only charged like 2% in like 4 hours I am stuck

I had the same problem. It turned out to be the USB cable could not deliver the current. Appearently some USB cables are not made for changing with high current. Try another USB cable! BTW the S3 needs at minimum a 1A charger.

Make sure you don't use a usb extension I did that and my phone took an age to charge
