Vibration pattern not working for notifications?

I just got a new G6 and I set the vibration type to "Ticktock" which gives 4 short vibrations. But when get a notification (say, from the Google Keep app) I only get a single short vibration. It doesn't matter what vibration type I select in the LG settings menu, I always get one short vibration for the notification.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if there's a bug in the OS, or if my new LG hardware is defective.

Thanks.

Ok, I did a factory reset and tested the vibration type feature. It doesn't matter what I set it at, the vibration I feel with a calendar event notification or text message alert is one, short vibration. I can't seem to get it to do a longer vibration, or a dashed vibration pattern. I tested this with no other 3rd party apps installed after the factory reset.

I'm thinking this may mean my hardware is bad. Can someone please do a test on their phone and let me know if they can switch to a different vibration type (for example, the ticktock, rapid, or short repeated) and test it with an event notification or text message?

Thanks.

Since no one cares to respond, I will.

I did some tests on a display model at my nearby ATT store, and I'm seeing the same effect. It seems the "Vibration Type" in the Sounds & Notification Settings only applies to the incoming phone calls if your phone is on vibrate. The vibration type doesn't affect the vibration notifications.

So, it seems there is no way to increase the duration or type of vibration for notifications (e.g., incoming email, text messages, etc) using the L6's standard settings. The only thing you can do, is adjust these settings in the individual app or use a 3rd party app that intercepts the notification broadcast and initiates a vibration. For some reason, I think this was much easier on my Galaxy S7 for some reason...
