What exact video codecs can the thrive can play. Love the thrive but my videos won't play or skip

According to Tosh's Thrive Tablet Detailed Product Specification on website, supported multimedia formats are:

AAC, H.263, H.264, MP3, MIDI, MPEG-4, ACC+ Enhanced, AMR-WB, AAC+, WAVE, Ogg Vorbis, WMA

I downloaded MoboPlayer, i haven't found a video format that it doesn't play yet. The video quality is pretty good too.

I've tried 720p and 1080p videos even stardard def had problems with every file playing. tried mobo player same problem

Even the XOOM has these problems. From what I've researched, it's the Tegra 2 processor that is the culprit as it just can't handle true 720p or 1080p.

The next round of tablets should be running the Tegra 3 (aka Kal-El) processor which is much more capable of running true HD.

I skipped out on the Toshiba after hearing this since all recent tablets have the same innards and thus the same problems with true HD.

yeah its a bummer but as long as the thrive gets Google movies and Netflix I'm a happy camper. not big into watching my own video so the thrive is perfect for a photo buff like me! ! I'm loving it

Does the thrive have access to a netflix app? As far as I know, NONE of the android tablets have a netflix app (or hulu for that matter). This is the main reason I have not purchased one yet. I finally have hulu and netflix on my droid x and I can't go back to a device that doesn't have them.

I have played w tf, gt and toshiba, and I would have to go w the thrive for all the ports, even though I really loved the gt. Sd cards and changeable batteries wins for me.

The HTC EVO View 4G is the first Android tablet to have Netflix.

The reason why Netflix won't put it on other tablets at the moment is because of them being idiots and thinking that Android = piracy. They want special DRM built into the tablet itself. Thus, no current tablets (except for the View 4G) will have Netflix.\

The next tablet to have Netflix is the Lenovo Ideapad K1. It has the hardware-based DRM and allows for HDMI streaming and saving content locally to the device itself.

toshiba thrive supports very limited video formats, It is disappointing, for this, i had to take some money to purchase foxreal's video tool

My Thrive plays avi and mp4 videos and that is sufficient for me.
