Voltage control settings

ok I need to start working on these settings. Up until now, I have been doing temp settings, but I keep forgetting to reset them after a reboot so I really havent found the sweet spot for my phone.

What will happen (specifically, not just "instability") if I choose some bad settings for the phone? I plan on starting with some known good ones from this thread so I am not going in blind, but we all know that each phone is very alike and totally different.

I have mostly just had freezing and Sleep of Death when I picked some settings that my phone didn't like.

were you able to go to a safe setting without a reflash (not afraid of it, just curious) or did you have to do a restore?

I just took the battery out and rebooted and voltage settings were reverted back. Thats why you want to give your settings a day to see if there are any freezes or other weird stuff going on before saving as boot settings.

i didnt have to wait even that long, it either froze solid or reboot looped within 30 minutes of whatever I tried so far...

You ideally want to start low and work your way up from there. You might want to start at -25 for everything and if runs stable start increasing on the lower in. Every phone is different and it might take some trial and error to find a sweet spot that your phone likes.

Cwm has an option to wipe your boot settings so if you lock up just boot into recovery and wipe them and start again with different numbers

You should also probably just use the "Apply for now" option and run it all day. If it makes to the end of the day without freezing up then you can go ahead and save them as the boot settings. If you do freeze up just take out the battery and reboot. You will reboot into whatever your previous settings and try again with something different.

I have these settings running currently, with no problem.

I'm running an undervolted/overclocked kernel @ 1200mhz.

1200Mhz: it's at 1200mV now, which is -100
1000Mhz: it's alos at 1200mV, -100
800Mhz: it's at 1100 mV, -100
400Mhz: it's at 950mV, -100
200Mhz: it's at 800, -150
100 Mhz: it's at 800, -150

All running very smoothly. I'll let you know how well my battery is when I do more testing on it. Seems like a lot of people can't underVolt as much as I'm able to? Must be lucky. :)

I'm running the imnuts - PeanutButta Jellytime 100 voodoo kernel. It's been a week without problems now.

100mv off 400-1000mhz/125mv off 100-200mhz

Im running background data, auto rotation, auto brightness and juice defender on both of these setups with moderate use (browsing, facebook, messaging, mail, calls, nav, miui music). Though im running into one screen lockup and a lil lag with the 2nd setup so ill have to see once the battery is calibrated. I saw that its suggested to only use 5-7 steps but with running 9 i dont seem to have any problems.

According to CPU spy my phone with the first setup spent around 80% in deep sleep 1200, 800, and 100 MHZ had the most usage out of any other steps. I'll grab a screen shot after my 2nd cycle charge/discharge on the 2nd setup I'm running.

how much screen on time that is the biggie....im gonna try your first setup for a few days, than new kernel time.

This created an FC for me as soon as I hit the app drawer.

Is there an app that shows usage at specific levels?

Here's my setup:
noop - 1200 limit

1200 - 0
1000 - 0
800 - 50
600 - 50
400 - 50
200 - 50
100 - 75

I'm satisfied with my battery life, but my SeePU shows my CPU usage very high, usually while charging, unlocking to MMS (muiu lock) and when texting, among other periods of usage. I'll run ATK and be ok for a minute, but it fluctuates. I'd like to be able to see what apps are being run at what Mhz levels so I can tweak them accordingly to get a smoother run. ComRom is only going to do so much.

First and most importantly, get rid of the ATK. The Android operating system is designed to multitask and will close unnecessary apps on it's own. ATK's force the Android operating system to work in a way it is not supposed to, and will drain your battery quickly.

The app CPU Spy will tell you usage at each voltage level as a percentage.

Some have an issue with the miui Lock screen. The issue is that while charging, the cpu will run a the highest step. I have noticed it when I looked for it.

Ok, so I switched to the epic unlock, which I actually prefer because it opens the newest received text, and using cpu spy bumped my 800 from 50 to 75 and it seems much happier all around! Youse guys are the righteous jams!

My phone talks to computers.
