Hi

Does anybody know if Google are working with carriers to see that the correct settings are made available to use VoLTE on networks.

I am with Three in the UK and they claim that only devices supplied by them have the correct settings applied. After speaking to somebody in the customer relations team I was told that the manufacturers have all been approached about getting the correct settings sent to phones through a software update. It is now up to the manufacturers to do something. This could of course not be the case.

Does anybody know if Google/Huawei will be aware of this, and if they will doe something about it? As my handset can't use VoLTE I get no signal in my house. Three UK use the 800Mhz (Band 20 I believe) for VoLTE which should mean indoor signal is better.

Thanks,
Paul

I can confirm VoLTE & WiFi calling work just fine for T-Mobile here in the US. I know it doesn't work for all (such as I don't believe AT&T works with VoLTE). It may be carrier driven more than Google but I am not 100% sure on that.

VoLTE is working out of the box on Verizon.

Sounds to me like the OP's issue is that the incorrect LTE bands are activated out of the box. I've seen a few posts on XDA about activating bands - but be careful - I saw one poster that activated the wrong band, and had to RMA his phone - couldn't change the bands after he'd activated them. I'd do some searches for changing the active bands on the 6P.

I'm another one who's VoLTE is working out of the box on Verizon.

After I received the phone yesterday, I plugged in my nano SIM card from my iPhone that had VoLTE enabled and VoLTE was turned on and working on the Nexus 6P. I think those who are having problems are having to get a new SIM card because of the size, or did not have VoLTE enabled prior to switching to the 6P.
