I don't think I could ever go back to 3g. Guess I'm spoiled data user.

Finally gave up and called "V". explained I can now only get 3G. They made me do battery pull while on and then while off.
Then they "put a ticket" on my location to see what is going on in the area.
Then they apologized and said we will contact you in 3 hours.
Was waiting for the rep to say"do a few jumping jax" as a next test.
I decided to drive around my area where I know there are cell towers that verizon uses to see if the 4G goes on.

The Sprint tower which Verizon uses is less than a mile from me and so I am practically under the thing with a reading of 4 glowing bars, about -62 db reading and oh yeah......3G.

Went back to my place placed my TB on my desk facing a mirror, for highly reflective purposes of course, and within an hour ..wallllaa.4G.

Still no call back.
Goofy for sure.

We should get refunds.whenever data is down.
Actually, I'm sure you could. But you'd have to work for it. You'd place a call to CS, explain the issue to three or four people, one of them would finally agree to put you through to the billing department. After negotiating the time without data with the billing department they'd credit your account for the period of time that you didn't have data. Total phone call time roughly 1.5 hours. Total dollars recouped (based on a data outage of 48 hours) $2.00 (2 days of $30/mo data plan). The main question is, do you want a part time job that pays $1.33/hr?

It can't be helped. This is actually an issue that will take time to fix. Be glad the 3 g is still available. I don't live in a 4 g area. I am glad to have the 3 g and it is better than REV A.
I work in a 4g area but I keep it set to CDMA. I don't want it toggling.
I know those used to 4 g get into an uproar when its down. But on the bright side you still have a connection on 3 g.

VZW could shut off the security handshake protocol that cuts off connection to users of 4G. Does that mean unauthorized users could.gain access? Sure it does but that's THEIR problem. We pay for a service. Let them provide it or pay the consequences. Their motivation for.a faster fix is proportional to how.much money it.costs them.

It doesn't pay for consumers.to be "understanding". Coorporations only respond to financial consequences.

Spokane, WA still showing outtages, verified with a couple of users, however this could be localized to just certain areas here, working on verifying that.
