VZW Share Everything Plans

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

I have great news ladies and gents. I called c.s. yesterday and was told I would lose unlimited data once I activate the gs3. We made a deal where I will still try to activate the phone and if it forces into the new plan I will box it up and sent it back. Well she just called me at 5:00p.m. cst and told me that all employees got an email saying any phone purchased before the 28th will continue to have unlimited data including the pre order of the gs3.

i hope for your sake you are right, just talked to Best Buy and they told me they don't touch your account till you pick up and activate the phone.

Just to be safe i am going to order through Verizon

I hope too. I would go back and order at Verizon, but I don't want to be way back on the list, where as at best buy I'm first. If best buy makes me switch plans, I will call Verizon after so they can read the note on my account. If they still don't except it, I will just have to deal with the new plans (don't use too much data anyways).

I agree and it's what I will do too even though I've got a BB gift card as a BD present. If I order directly from VZW, I believe what's been stated by VZW that I'll keep my unlimited.

With BB, there's just too much 'it should be fine' stuff that I don't want to risk it since the BB doesn't change your contract until you actually pick up the phone, which is weeks after the 28th.

Re: unlimited data and pre-order of galaxy iii @ best buy

If my wife and i went to the unlimited/unlimited/6gb plan, we would actually save money, but i want my unlimited data because who knows how much data i am going to be using in 2 years, who knows, but we will see.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

Don’t preorder from Verizon’s main page. Log into your actual account, then click on upgrade. If you click on the Galaxy S III advertisement on the main page, then click upgrade/preorder, it won’t give you the option to keep your unlimited plan (it didn’t for me anyway). When I went into my account, then clicked on upgrade, it had the option to “keep existing plan”. Why? Who knows…

FYI: This was on launch day. It may have been corrected by now.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

Or you can pre order over the phone and make sure they keep your unlimited plan

Just called and tried that, they say no because the order doesn't actually process until after the 28th, I go to tiered.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

Just ordered it online and kept unlimited data!!

Photo proof below!

Ok thanks for the follow up!!!!

I received my ne2 discount when I pre-ordered, who has only $30. There is no 3G to 4g discount for the S3.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

Cs was wrong. Pre-orders absolutely keep their unlimited data.

not true...Verizon Support has been tweeting the past 2 days that you will keep it as long as you pre ordered before the 28th

Well we'll see if I have any credit for this preorder when I do it tomorrow. I was hoping to get a response to the email I sent CS to get a response to the unlimited data question in writing through their official channels. I haven't upgraded in 2.5 years. I'll probably get zip zero for that.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

Well, I have my chat records, my order records and it preselected my plan for me also. I also have Hotspot which is unlimited.

Re: How are you guys pre-ordering and keeping your unlimited?

VZWSupport sent me a DM as well stating that yes, even though phone is activated after 6/28 as long as pre order is processed before 6/28 you're good

gotta hand it to their support team on twitter, doing a pretty decent job at damage control

Of course hotspot is now free with capped data. They want you to share data with everyone in town so you get smacked with over usage charges.

Hotspot should ALWAYS be free, especially on tiered data plans.

These data plans are the beginning of moving away from voice/data plans. Once LTE is fully expanded, VZW will start using Voice Over LTE and there will be no more need to count minutes since it will all be measured in GB's. AT&T and Sprint will eventually do the same thing. The fact that they dropped minute plans altogether is proof that they don't care anymore about minutes/talk time, its all about data.........
As to who truly benefits.. consumer or corporation....just depends..time will tell......

I don't know for sure but I do know which one I would hedge my bets on.

And it isn't us.

I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2.

There's no benefit to staying with VZW anymore. It costs the same as att for their individual plans, and the share plans are even more expensive.
