VZW Share Everything Plans

Re: Something Is Not Right With The Keep Your Unlimited Plan..

I don't know guys... I have a bad feeling about this.. I don't know what Verizon is up to with this "Pre-Order now but if you do a subsidized purchase and activate after the 28th you will be switched to a new plan" ? How the Hell can you activate a phone before you take possession of it.. I know this only applies to a small percentage of folks ordering the S3 that still have unlimited data and are buying the phone on a subsidy payment plan, but still they may get screwed out of their unlimited before this is over. Good Luck I hope you can keep your plans and enjoy the phone to the max.

You seriously need to stop with the trolling. I'm at the point where I'm willing to write a check to AndroidCentral so they'll add an ignore poster button.

Or you could just ignore them for free ;)

I dunno about you guys, but I've talked to several people and these new plans actually save these people a lot of money including myself. I'm ok without unlimited as long as my bill doesn't go sky high. Actually it's saves me $41 a month.

It just REALLY depends on circumstances. For these plans to be good, you would have to have multiple lines with users that only use a little bit of data each month. Anyone single or that uses a lot of data is SOL and screwed over by Verizon's greed.

I don't see how these plans effect the single user. Before you couldn't share data with another device like a tablet and it required a separate plan. They're doing away with family plans but the single user plans seem to be staying intact and just as overpriced as they were before.

Unless you mean eventually one day when you upgrade to a new device you'll lose your unlimited and be forced onto one of the single user tiered plans.

Re: I am off contract but Verizon hassled me about getting a GSII

This is what everyone signed when they pre-ordered. You renewed your contract when you checked out.

The terms and conditions only said "Agreeing in writing, by mail, over the phone, or in person", it did not say it apply to pre-order over the web. Did Verizon forgot to include "pre-order over the web"?

They affect the single line user because they're significantly more expensive for less service. How many uninformed people will choose these plans because the Verizon rep told them to, without understanding how crappy they are?

I get what you're saying...but why would a rep put a single line user on a family plan?

When I changed my line from single to family online...I had to get a minimum of 2 or 3 phones, cant remember which now. I assume its the same way in stores. If a customer sees that and doesnt understand they are switching to a family plan...lol.

And....they are not more expensive for less service for everyone. It will save me at least $80. Less data....but a bigger savings. In my case...less expensive...for less service...lol. Everybody keeps looking at the data part. This is a big saving for unlimited talk n text, which I have now. Whats wild is a similar plan on ATT....cost more. The minimum at least$15 more. And not everyone has unlimited data. We gotta remember there are ppl that came to Verizon when tiered plans went in effect. The data part is where the plans fall apart tho....

When comparing this plan to others and your own and other carriers....remember the unlimited talk n text. It wont benefit all....but it does benefit some. Even in my case....I will save ...alot....but I also give up unlimited data on 1 line and 2GB on another. I have been calling Verizon the past 2 days, trying to figure out what I'm gonna do. ..lol. Do we know if Verizon wont have talk n text Share plans under unlimited, like 2000 minutes?

I dont understand the switch back to tiered data plans. I remember when there wasnt unlimited data. Phone were getting smaller...now they are getting bigger again...its madness....lol.

For those who think you'd lose your unlimited plan, I'm curious as to how you imagine this functioning. When your phone arrives you pop in the SIM and turn it on. I don't see any real mechanism for Verizon to switch your plan at the point of activation. I suppose they could push a prompt that forces you to pick a new plan before the phone will activate. You could then, obviously, discontinue the process and send the phone back. I can't see Verizon doing this. All of the phones returned could then only be sold as refurbs. Seems highly unlikely to me and I can't really picture any other ways of doing this. So, rest well, I would be highly surprised if our unlimited data plans weren't safe (well, at least for the life of this 2 years contract).

I agree, if you preordered your phone you had to agree to a new contract plan and we all have that in writing from verizon themselves. Has anyone ever activated a phone on there own. You go through a voice prompt, so listen carfully. it might ask if you want to keep your currect plan or change it.. just follow the prompts. alls we will be doing is activiating the phone thats it.. I have in the past bought my kids phones through verizonwirelss for christmas. I had to choose the plan I wanted them to have but I didnt activated the phone till christmas eve. And it took one simple steps, never asked about the plan cause I already agreed to a plan when I did the actual purchase.. So those of you who preorder a phone prior to the june 28th date all is good, after that date dont know what will happen:)

Deja vu :)

But anyway, I ordered over the phone, asked specifically about unlimited data, they said no problem. Not a single mention of tiered data over the 80 minutes on the phone that it took due to yet another verizon screw up, discussed in another thread. Order confirmation email also confirmed unlimited data.

If they say something like "agreeing by typing or clicking", then there is no argument. The way they worded it is open for possible different interpretation.

If you're coming from another 4G phone and already have a micro Sim (or you could cut your regular sim) you won't even go through a voice prompt. You just pop in your sim, power up, and go.

I responded to this before...and I just seen some info I didnt see before. Seems like you are right.

Seems like individual plans might all become unlimited talk n text....thats crazy. No way is unlimited talk n text for a single line cheaper on the new plan...if you want a decent amount of data.

I am in hurry up mode now. I may need to split my family plan and take my unlimited line off like NOW!!! lol. These new plans are starting to suck harder the more new info I learn about.

I really hope Verizon puts out some solid information on the availability of the existing Individual and Family plans to new customers after Share Everything launches.

Statements made to various news outlets seem to indicate new customers won't have those older plans as options. There is no value for the single line user who doesn't need unlimited talk and text if that is the case.

@VZWSupport can't seem to get the answer straight.

To all verizon users, bend over and drop your drawers.you are going to get f_____d.

I got a feeling Verizon is just the beginning. Every other major carrier has followed suit with what the others has done for the most part. Sprint being the major exception with STILL offering unlimited data for new customers. Even that changed somewhat where phones still are...hotspot plans arent anymore.

Just recently there was a T Mo article about how their customers use less than 1GB - 2GB. I'm predicting their plans are next.

Nice...uh...first post.....

Another bad thing about these plans is they took away all other plan options one size fits all text and voice. Most users barely use voice. Verizon is forcing unlimted even though many don't need nor want it
