I've tried toggling data. Doing restarts. Toggling between Global mode and LTE/CDMA mode. I even tried a battery pull. No luck getting data back. I'm at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and had a good signal now nada. Any tricks? Ideas? Is it safe to try a wifi call to vzw on an open network?

Did you try taking out the sim card and reinstalling it?
If WiFi calling will work I'm sure its safe

Does anyone else on the same carrier as you have a signal?

I dm'ed vzw and they say no problem here. I don't see anyone fiddling with their phones. I couldn't get sim all the way out (no sim puller with me) but I got it half way out then back in but no dice. Damnedest thing. Hate to have to set up a new device. I'll copy my data and go to vzw tomorrow to try a new sim or any ideas they have.

What does your network type and signal indicate

It was 0 bars and an x with a notice when I turned on my phone there was no signal.

I found my friend and she had no signal either!

Outside now signal is fine.

I can only deduce Mohegan Sun shut off a Verizon signal repeater in the facility or turned on a blocker? We both got signals as soon as we went outdoors.

This really sucks for me because I like to play with my phone at the Casino. I was streaming a baseball game.

Mohegan Sun has free open wifi but I hate to hook up to that crap. Could be hackers all over the place.

Glad you found the issue and it was not the phone.

Just had the EXACT same problem. Also on Verizon, nothing v worked, and my wife's G6 was not having the same problem. But it just corrected itself out of nowhere.

Edit...I'm in Indiana.

Weird. You know I was surprised people weren't walking around holding cell phones in the air fishing for a signal but they're using wifi

Would a VPN help?

VPN only for browser use right?
I thought VPN redirected all network traffic. Otherwise how could it work for apps like Netflix (to make Netflix think you were in some other country, for example)?

That was my question. For example there are some browsers that have built in VPN capability but they would not protect Netflix nor Gmail. A real VPN costs money and I never use public wifi unless there is no llte nor cdma signal at all. Not worth my while to have a real VPN.

just lost all data service again suddenly. New SIM card and factory reset didn't fix it. Any ideas? phone seems fine except no data at all. I'm in Verizon and there is no network outage. My wife's G6 is right next to me working fine.

Call VZW from your wife's phone to have them troubleshoot.

Looks like a warranty replacement is in my future tomorrow.... dam. LG burnt me on the G3, and now they got me again. I love the phone, and I know stuff happens, but I take great care of my phones and this is the 2nd time an LG phone just conked out on me. Very frustrating to be making payments for another many months for somebody's refurb.

My VPN (paid) protects and encrypts All data in/out. Wi-Fi AND cellular signals, no matter what band.
