Hey everyone,

Is there a wifi signal booster or anything? My signal is pretty terrible just three rooms from my router...and by terrible I mean 1/4 bars and dropping signal....making it difficult to stream movies or even web browse before bed

What router you running?

I know some devices have issues with some routers...

because you mention your room mate / is this college walls we talking about. The xoom have no issue with wifi connectivity. so check the router and the channel is broadcasting on, there could be 78236748 other device broadcasting on the same channel. there are tools on the market to troubleshoot this issue

Yep, get a wifi sniffer and see what channels are broadcasting in the area, change yours to channel 1, 6, or 11

I have had similar issues with my wifi as well. Even in areas that I should have great signal and it still lags. I often turn off wifi and just use 3G for a more reliable signal.

My house is about 7,500 square feet, and I get rock solid signal through the entire house.

I have a WRVS4400N, with a LUXUL kit. In fact, I can get my wifi clear down the street.

Scrap the D-Link and get a proper router.

My Xoom works awesome at home with my 2 year old Linksys router. Plus works just as good in my office with the wireless... even in conf rooms with door shut. This baby rocks!!

How do I go about changing the channel my wi fi signal is on? The analyzer shows networks on channels 1, 6 and 11. I'm on 11 with a bunch of others but there are only two networks on channel 1. I live in an apartment complex not a dorm.

Thanks in advance

Its my roommates dlink. Dir-625. Probably a post but my macbook and evo do well so it can't be that bad a router

That's what I've got. A D-Link router with that 625 number. I guess Xoom and D-Link routers don't like each other. It worked fine on my parents router. Theirs is a NetGear. My Galaxy Tab works just fine on both routers. I guess that works out since I bought the Xoom for my parents, but I wanted to take the week to get it ready for them.

Grab wifi analyzer from the market and see what's up.

I was on a channel that was great in my living room but as I started using my xoom in the bedroom it kept crapping out. I used that app and saw some channel congestion. Changed channels and now it works every where.

The app is also free.

You have to login to your router from a web browser. You should be able to google the address and username and password for your model.

No problems with my first 1+ days with the device and different APs. I was impressed with the WiFi range if anything.
