Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

Oh, add-on edit here - assuming you have a case for the S22U. I don't know about you, I could never risk going without one.

I do not usually do cases other than have one around for higher risk scenarios, usually involving alcohol!

Wish I was that brave. Only time mine comes out it's case to appreciate is when I'm sitting in the middle of a thickly carpeted room. I've dropped and smashed way too many curved glass Galaxies now to risk it 😂

I have taken a few battle scars over the years but not many, I just prefer using them as nature intended. I think I am probably subconsciously more careful too going to caseless.

I have to say a few days in the FPS may be justification enough to choose the S22U, it is lightning quick and accurate. Fired up my 6 Pro yesterday and boy it was really jarring.

Yep. I moved from the S21 Ultra to the Pixel 6 Pro and the fingerprint scanner is lightyears apart. S21U had legitimately instant unlock and super accurate. P6P has very slow unlocks, it's hit rate is pretty average and outside in direct sunlight, you can forget about unlocking the phone.

I presume the S22 fingerprint scanner is the same as the S21 scanner.

Then as you mentioned before, battery for me has been pretty average/poor, auto brightness is all over the place, phone heats up and I don't get good reception. My S22U order is marked as 'preparing for dispatch' on Samsung's site, so the moment I get it, I'll pop the simcard in. Hopefully there aren't major issues and then I'll sell Pixel 6 Pro. For a Google made phone I'm just surprised at how many issues there are with the phone. I think all the issues have really tarnished the phone's reputation for what would have been a really great phone.

The cellular battery use is just daft on mine and must be indicative of radio of Tensor chip issues. Yesterday I left the house for not much more than an hour and my cellular battery use was 30% and wifi 1%

Was just curious, if each of us own the same phone model and are on the same software update platform why is it some of us experience these issues and others do not? I just keep thinking everyone should have the same issues and not partial, excuse my lack of knowledge in this area!

Different carriers, different apps, different WiFi equipment we connect to, different vehicle models with different forms of Bluetooth, etc, etc. Lots of other things can contribute to some issues

I'm guessing Quality Control, Defective? All I know my previous phones never had this problem.

Just like vehicles, not all are perfect hence recalls.

Unless it's Apple (said it many times, their customer service is top of the game!) I hate dealing with warranty. That's why I'm hoping it can be fixed with software update.

If Samsung had the same offers for the Z Flip3 with the S22 Ultra, my P6P would've been sold already.

Is the S22U FPS ultrasonic or optical like the Pixel? It's ultrasonic, right?

My Tab is optical as far as I can tell and suffers from not recognizing my finger on the first try. Although, putting the FPS on the screen of a tablet is just... awkward to engage with in general.

After one full day with the S22 Ultra I'm trying to convince myself I don't like it, but it's not going to well, LOL. It is a really nice device!! The camera, while very versatile and feature rich, still isn't on par with Pixels for simple point and shot, IMO.

I believe it's ultrasonic ... whatever it is, it's super quick. As is face unlock!

What do you think of the size? Feel about the same in general?

Very similar in size and weight ... although the S22 Ultra feels a bit better in the hands (ladies, you know the procedure ) IMO. Think the overall weight distribution is better.

Boxy Ultra feel but I like it ...Note days are back
