Way too many issues, who's jumping ship once S22 Ultra launches?

From the AC review, it seems like the ultra camera still struggles with movement, especially indoors. I don't understand why Samsung can't nail this part of the camera.

It is just crazy as it is clearly not hardware and year after year their cameras blur and smudge, I just don’t get it. The fact that most reviewers continue to ignore the issue must be contributing. I guess how sharp that street sign is from 100 yards is way more important.

I agree that in the past most reviewers ignored this and the only conversation around it you would see is in these forums, but I've seen at least a few reviews of the 22 ultra ding the camera in their review because of how it handles moving subjects. Maybe they can tweak it via software patches.

Already seeing posts on the S22 forum about the battery getting warm. As soon as it gets released to everyone there will be reception, camera and battery complaint threads, same as every new device.

Good point. With that idea in mind, I am going to wait. Ignore Samsung's texts and emails about the great pre-order offers. I bought my S21U mid-cycle and it was an excellent phone at that point (to me). As long as there aren't any more massive fails on my P6P, I'll stick it out. (I can't type that with a straight face)

The iffy battery life makes the s22 an easy pass for me, but I wouldn't mind trying another Samsung phone one of these days. They get just about everything else right and now they're better than Google with promised updates.

Saw that on 9to5google as well. Nice to see that actually given attention, since as you mention, so few reviewers do. For me, that's the biggest reason why I finally abandoned Samsung for the Pixel 6. It's been a great change to not miss so many indoor shots of my kids.

The fact they've ignored it for this long though makes you wonder if they have any interest in doing so. Though if more reviewers continue to mention it, maybe they finally will give it some attention.

They haven't been able to get it right! I find myself having to sort through pictures and delete many more than with the Pixel. They lured me in again, so we will try the S22U. Expeting the same results as I had with my Note, S21U and so on. When you get a good photo it is a good one, just takes effort adn the stars must align.

As I had previously mentioned, head on over to the S22U thread, the madness and negativity is already ensuing, and I haven't even received mine yet.

My Pixel 6 Pro is working great on 12LBeta3. For some reason Samsung phones never fired up any interest in me. I'm sticking with the Pixels and can't wait for the P7Pro.

Yeah 12L B3 is great on my phone too. Very fast and FPS better. I have no issues with my 6 Pro at all and photos are first rate.

You weren't kidding!!! It's complete chaos over there. I had to quietly get out of there...LOL! ...Lag, screen, connection, etc....

Getting my S22U next week, so I'll be complaining soon too (hopefully not)....Woooo!!!!

I'll let you know if I have any complaints when mine arrives later today.

From what I've read if you're getting the Snapdragon version you should be fine. Though there's a thread about the benchmarks be slow. Don't know how much stock I put in that.

It happens all over forums when new phones arrive in users hands, not just this forum. Make some popcorn, sit back & relax and enjoy the show. :)

My ultra arrived yesterday and I am seeing some of the issues others are reporting, general lag and stutters vertical scrolling. I am sure they will fix it though.

I am conflicted though as I still want to like the Pixel 6 Pro more, for my use the camera is better on the Pixel but with the issues on the Pixel it really feels like camera on the Pixel vs. Almost everything else on the Samsung (other than price) with my key beefs, fingerprint sensor, auto brightness, radio performance/battery drain all already obviously better on the S22U. Build quality is better too andI prefer the Matt rather than gloss glass too but for the extra money the S22U it should feel better.

Currently procrastinating over whether to keep the Samsung or not…

I know that feeling.

How long do you have to return the S22U? You could try swapping phones for a day, even a few days, as long as you are careful and tend not to be one that drops phones. Just a thought since you currently have both.

Oh, add-on edit here - assuming you have a case for the S22U. I don't know about you, I could never risk going without one.

I have 14 days but I need to send in my trade in device sooner so in reality do not have long.

If it is was not for the trade in offer , free buds and Disney plus etc I would probably return it and see how the issues panned out.

Struck me last night that the OnePlus 9 Pro had similar vertical scrolling issues and they never got fixed as far as I can tell.
