I've pretty much gotten my case decisions down and made some purchases, however I want to know how I could keep my lens from getting damaged. I worry more about my lens than my screen... I can just imagine at one point during the next 2-3 years, some piece of sand will just scratch the lens a little bit and ruin my day.

Good, question no answers??

New S4 user here! just changed from.........an iPhone 3GS which I bought when it first came out to a Samsung S4...the iphone was great and lasted a long time...it died a week ago and I decided to change to Samsung S4 and android!

Any advice on camera lens care? seems quite exposed and leaving the phone down etc.....Oh and any advice on cases and covers for the S4, also a running band?

I'm no expert, but the actual optical lens in covered by a protective glass cover. I don't know if the glass is Gorilla glass or not. I've never worried about scratching the lens and over the years through various phones I've never scratched the glass covering the lens and I've dropped phones in gravel and carried them on my belt. I think the risk of a serious scratch is pretty minimal.

I just switched from iPhone to Samsung S4 too! When I bought the phone I knew I wanted the otterbox commuter case (which is what I used for my iPhone 4 - it was perfect and protected extremely well). They did not have it in stock at Verizon though, so I just ordered it online. It finally came in today (those three days of a naked phone were killing me; I am a very paranoid dude when it comes to my expensive phones :p ), and it covers the phone extremely well. What I like about it in regards to the camera is that it adds a (somewhat) deep lip around the camera lens/flash so that the camera wont touch any surface at all when set down or anything like that. I cant see how anything will really get to the lens that way. This is how my iPhone lens was protected and I never had any problems with the lens getting damaged.

I've never had the camera glass get scratched, either. It's starting to make me wonder why I have a screen protector on if scratching hasn't ever been an issue for me.
