Just tried again. Still no go. The rep said that the plan is only for those who are grandfathered in.

Going to try calling every hour. Hopefully someone puts it through.

EDIT (12:24 PM EST): Anddddddddd it just went through. Third time's a charm! I love you OP!!!! Unlimited data is MINEEEEEEEEE!

I just tried four times and after being told, "I am sorry Sir, unlimited is not available for you" three times and responding that I would "think about it". I called back a 4th time and a guy added it without hesitation.

I signed up with Verizon and picked up my new Rezounds last night and am rocking unlimited data thanks to DWill!!!

You guys realize you can add this through "My Verizon" on the verizonwireless.com site. I went to verizon to get my phone replaced and I asked the rep. She was like.. change it here. They aren't making this a big announcement and it is limited time.

You can add a tiered hotspot plan on the website. You can't add the unlimited. Unless you already had unlimited. Everyone would have done it online if it were possible.

I see you can add the mobile hotspot on the website, but did it change your phones data plan to unlimited as well?

Edit: I grew a pair and tried it, says I have to call customer service.

All I had to do was to call the CSR, and ask to add the Mobile Hot Spot. CSR wasn't that surprised that it add unlimited, but he was polite about it.

I'm planning to pay for at least a month of it just to justify my change to unlimited, plus why not give a bone to Verizon? They've taken care of me in the past.

Debator - You cannot add the feature to your plan online unless you have unlimited data. Being that this thread is about those who are not grandfathered and who are seeking unlimited data and not so much the Mobile Hot-Spot, Majik's post was correct in context.

To get the unlimited data you must call. It cannot be done online.

I am a new/returning VZW customer and got my Rezound for a penny on Amazon Wireless.

Tried this yesterday, 12/04. Worked on the fourth try. First three reps said I must have had the unlimited plan prior to July 2011. One even said I can't get unlimited data on the MHS at all..."The max is 2GB".

The fourth rep was great, saying that "...the system they use to add/delete options is way too complicated". But then she said "Oh wait. Lemme try something here..." She then said she removed my $30 5gig data plan in order to add the $29.99 MHS plan and Lo and Behold, there was the Unlimited Data. She said "Well, I don't think you're supposed to have it as a new customer, but if it lets me do it, who am I to argue?" She asked me to check with MyVerizon while she was still on the phone "...to see if everything looks 'correc't with my account". As soon as I saw Unlimited Data, I was like, "Absolutely! Thank you, Bye!!"

Just tried to do this without success. Currently have 6GB tethered option. Was told I did not qualify. Tried to call back and this time the CSR said I see that you just called about this change and you don't qualify. Apparently they now document your requests.

I Suggest U keep trying. I didn't think it would work after the second try. But I think it boils down to who you get on the other end. Also, I wouldn't mention Unlimited Data until they do/see it. Just that you're interested in the $30 MHS plan. The only way it can be added right now is via this method. They have to add the unlimited to do it.

Keep trying.

No luck here either. I was interested in porting a line over and called a couple of times. No way were they going to do it. Wasn't going to sign a 2 year contract without it.

Try porting the numbers over and then call after to set up the mobile hotspot.
