I'm finally ditching my iPhone 5 for a Nexus 5, and to my surprise, clicking "Order" actually felt awesome. However, this is not my first foray into Android. I have a Nexus 7, and basically, using that was my "trial run" with Android. I made a firm decision on the N5 after visiting a T-Mo store (AT&T's are always crowded) and got to spend some time with a Nexus. What an amazing fast device! Not to mention, that big screen.
Well, I finally did it! Bought a Nexus 5.

I'm in the same boat as you. I just sold my iPhone 5s for a Nexus 5. I also have a Note 3 that I bought a few days ago so I'm going to use both and decided which one I'm returning. I'm very excited! I got the shipped email from Google a few minutes ago and I paid for overnight shipping so I'm hoping I get it tomorrow!
Congrats! Welcome to the fold. Please, please, don't forget to turn off iMessage before you make the switch.

This x2. I switched from an iPhone as well, and even with switching off iMessage you still may even get some iPhone users getting some errors saying message cannot bet sent. Normally they just need to delete your text conversation, start a new one and they should be good to go. Welcome to the N5 and enjoy!
Thanks for the welcomes! I love that it's more open and more powerful than the iPhone, and that Google is not as restrictive as Apple. (I mean com'on, Apple removing a encrypted messaging app? Seriously?)
