Like myself, Im sure hundreds of you all received the latest update and lost a ton of features you used since getting this device! (Oreo I assume?)
Is there no way to return to the "Non Simplified" Layout where we had icons instead of the "List" style within settings?
Loss of larger Text arrival icon indicator?
Less customizable than previous software?
WTF over???
Yes, I realize there is most likely a long thread history elsewhere within the Forum, but if you're reading this I assume this is the same device you have.
Any help is greatly appreciated folks. UGHHHHH. !!
T-Mobile here. Nothing was taken away in the update but if GIF and stickers were, I'd just go back to using Swiftkey or Gboard. For icon personalization I'd go with Nova which I currently use.I've the At&t updated phone. I don't have these new gifs or stickers in messages that people are speaking of. Also have lost the option for personalized notifications. This was very useful :/
Are you guys that are having problems doing a hard reset? I have better battery life and it's faster
I'm with Verizon and don't see the same problems others are reporting; no resets or app crashes. I did clear the cache partition after the update. Bixby using the simplified settings layout could be the reason for no option to change that. If anything, the battery life might be a skosh poorer.I'm going to take a wild guess and say you are in Verizon.. If I'm right this is nothing new.. The big red always has a big talk about being the best while they secretly take features and settings away and customize a ton of their phones while adding apps no one wants..
Same - no crashes, no resets - running smooth as ever. I'm gunna say this. We should have 8.1 not 8.0. It is obvious that Google wanted to **** everyone of us off with the crap they gave us.thought for the day. if you were sick or had financial issues, would you appreciate everyone dropping by to say "I'm not sick", "I have plenty of money"? just because we or you are okay, not having issues, doesn't mean it's helpful.
Does Samsung ever use the point release? In my experience they always use the .0 of each version. Most of the OEMs do. Personally I think it's stupid because all of the fixes are in the .1 releases and for as long as they take they might as well use the version with the fixes IMHO.I'm gunna say this. Yeah it might of, I honestly don't know.Didn't the note 8 launch with 7.1? I can't remember, but I thought it did.
Indeed. 8.0 has just appeared for UK BTU on Sammobile but I will wait for 8.1.
