Re: What about the M8 DON'T you like?
Given the number of 20 somethings I see running around with iPhones, I don't think they lack disposable income. Olds vs youngs aside, where I think Samsung succeeded and HTC failed was in simple ad saturation. You couldn't turn around in some places without seeing an ad for a Galaxy device, while I really only ever remember seeing the One advertised on tech websites. Techies loved the One, but the general population bought the S4 because that's what they were familiar with.
On a side note, Samsung was brilliant in snatching up the "Galaxy" moniker for their Android phones and devices. HTC stumbled for a long time in that regard, and it's coming back to haunt them now.
I remember the first One commercials of a bunch of young twenty somethings dancing in a club taking low light pics with the one. I remember saying at the time in these forums that HTC missed their target market because those young twenty somethings don't have the same disposable income as a broader section of the buying public. Compared with samsungs ads for the S4 where they showed a 20 something kid snowing off the gimmicks to his parents Samsung hit a much larger demographic.
