What are the first things to do after getting G2

I'm not really worried about it. I'll end up getting TWRP at some point. And I only install root apps that I've used on other phones.

So rooted just for the apps, then? Since you can't flash anything else without TRWP? Did you check of you can get CWM?

Yeah I rooted to get the apps and and remove bloatware. I also used a mod to fix the low volume issue. Searched xda and was able to add the latest version of CWM.

So you are covered with a recovery image.
TBH, cwm's recovery images were headache with a million files, I WONDER if it's better now.
But at least you have some fallback in case of disaster.

CWM has been cleaned up quite a bit. I only have a couple options for recovery (system and full).

First thing I did was put on a screen protector, then after letting that set up and dry turned it on, rooted it, disabled carrieriq and nearly everything att,removed tethering entitlement check, then called up att and had them activate the sim, in the phone
