What are the US carrier options for the Nexus 5, or any LTE phone?

I want to believe that with the hype of the N5 and success of the N4 that Google will do everything is their power to make sure All Major carriers get this device.

The fact that the N7 works on Verizon is a start.

Thought the LTE didn't work on Verizon?

It's not up to Google. In this case, it's Verizon being stubborn.

I love the Nexus line of phones and would stay with them as long as I could. However, my local carrier here in Colorado is Viaero Wireless. As far as local coverage they are great and the N5 would be a killer phone with them. My GNex is awesome on their system. However, my kids have moved out of area and when we travel to see them coverage falls to pieces outside our local area. Our only other option is Verizon and they won't carry the N5 so I'll probably go with you Moto X or G2 when I finally switch to them in a few months.

This was my question about it.

After the iPhone 5 debuted unlocked and had the ability to swap between the four major carriers, I couldn't think of a reason why Google would build the N5 specifically without the capability of jumping on the VZW LTE network. It doesn't make sense, from Google's perspective, to deliberately neglect such a large part of the US market.

If the phone ends up not being capatible with the VZW network, I'd love to know Why's and Who's of the situation.

Does anyone know the limitations of some of the lower tier services.

For example, what is the difference between AIO, GoPhone and actually getting AT&T service. Surely they are not exactly the same in terms of coverage right?

While this is mostly correct, I think google should have put in VZW's LTE band in anyway. The FCC mandates that VZW must allow any compatible device on its LTE network. Verizon could block the N5 from accessing the 3G data/voice network, but they could not stop you from getting a data only plan and connecting your N5. With VZW 4G so expansive this would have been a nice VOIP option.
